    Question: Metal in oil filters?

There has been some chatter on the net about C7 engine failure due to metal in it's oil filter. If this is so what is the C7 filter number and is there any recall on those that might have "metal" in them? . Why in the world would there be metal in an oil filter with the only machined part...

clicking sound when letting off or back on gas? dealer said nothing wrong?

Yes it can be an axle nut. I had one come loose on my C6 and ordered a new one. When I got it the method of manufacture was a poor manner of making a lock nut. This nut is large and made even bigger with its flange. To upset the threads they, (India) coined opposing flats. Common practice but...

Question: Most likely situation with a PO4030 check engine code-

New cats? Interesting, GMs pricing is a bit high since Rockauto has a set for about $440. Walker even offers them by the half without the "H" pipe.

    Craig Parliament (bossvette) Killed Sunday

That was a dark and rainy day and as we waited for you folks to arrive I got a call that my mother had passed away. I had to leave just after you all arrived in a downpour. Craig as always never batted an eye, he picked up all the awards that I had made up for the Cruisefest and took over for...

    Craig Parliament (bossvette) Killed Sunday

Craig was one of the four that put together the first cruisefest in Auburn In. 2004. He was hit while stopped on his Harley at a light behind another car about 9:00 Sunday morning. Another driver failed to stop and pushed him into the car in front of him, he died on the scene. His passenger...

April 2014: Corvette Sales are alive and well!

If we use the numbers we do have the C7 hasn't out sold the C6 yet. Jan. 2006, 2,579 VS Jan. 2014, 2,261 and so it goes..........but April was close. Would still like to see the numbers from the last half of 2013, the C7 had a big number for Oct. that may be hard to beat. I still expect to see...

Where are the April 2005 and end of year sales figures? It would be interesting to compare apples to apples.

    Muffler Sound

Now you're talking.............. Allen is the way to go, it's hard to tell if they are exhaust people or people people but they do what they say and quickly, no middle men. Their product is one of the best I've ever run or heard. Their service is quick and painless, just plain good guys to deal...

    8 speed automatic

Boy did I ever miss this one, shame on me, oh, wait I didn't - - whatever.......... "Starting in May of 2011 GM has earmarked $322 million for their 8 speed transmission. That is much less than the $540 million they spent for the rear wheel drive 6 speed funded in Feb. 2006. I believe that the...

GM Press Release: Corvette Sales Up 149% in February 2014 vs 2013

You got that right Vito, if you compare the first year sales for the C6 to the last year it sold 278% more and my guess is the C6 will be very close or even out sell the C7 in the first year. GM even released the convertible very early to keep the C7 selling. Another price increase like the last...

Help! Windows on C5 (2000) convertible

I'm going to use that "old" excuse here as it has been well over 10 years since I've made any window adjustments on a C5 and no longer have an assembly manual. I'll look up the same thing in the C6 manual and let you know if it jogs my memory. In the mean time there is another thread I replied...

Help! Windows on C5 (2000) convertible

You might try a window adjustment, not that bad for the average owner to do. The rear tip in adjusters for the windows ARE located right behind the red reflectors on the door panels. You DO NOT have to remove the door panel to get to it. The reflector is held in by two tabs at the top and a...

Question: C7 tire size and TPMs

When I was working up my order for the C7 it was interesting to me that the front/rear tire size for the base coupe was the same as the C6. Since I have another set of tires and rims for my C6 with TPSs I was wondering if anyone knows if they have the same sensors in the C7 as there are in the...

    Ouch!

Now you're catching on, go back and read what I said. They were NOT stock tires, I always have stock and rain tires because I drive my Corvettes when I want to not when someone else thinks I should. I live on the edge...........

    Ouch!

Luck is not the trait I rely on when driving. If you can't drive in that kind of weather don't, but for those that can and do so without problems I don't see how that makes them stupid. I see many more FWD, RWD, 4WD in the ditch than I do Corvettes but then most of us are smart enough to know...
