    Camshaft Opinions?

While i'm taking it apart and rebuilding, i'm considering a mild cam with slightly noticeable idle. Everything else is staying stock except i'm running muffler eliminators. Most of my driving is around town, so not looking for high end help. Any suggestions on a nice cam for the L98? Thanks

    AIR and A/C delete on '86 L98

Thanks CG, I didnt look at it as a hacked up Corvette, but you got a good point there. I'm sure during the rebuild, I'll be asking many, many more questions. I came over from the Tri-Five forums when I bought my Vette a year and a half or so. My last rebuild was a '57 283. This one doesnt look...

    AIR and A/C delete on '86 L98

No idea how many miles are on it....also has severe knocking under a load and sometimes sounds like there is no oil in it, although the dash reads 45 to 55 lbs. So I figure at least a simple rebuild is in order...and maybe while apart a few extras might be in the cards.

    AIR and A/C delete on '86 L98

Does anybody know if there are any repercussions for eliminating these items? Just seems that it would clean up the engine compartment greatly and since i'm stripping down the engine, now might be the time. Thanks in advance. :w

    EGR crimp ring tool

Hi Roger, I'm talking about the tube itself and the crimp ring holding on to the exhaust manifold. Searching old posts, I understand most of the tubes were bolted on, with some attached with a crimp ring, Thats the style I have.

Hi all, anybody know where to locate the tool required for crimping the ring on the egr exhaust tube? Ordered the tube... its been back ordered...still cant find the new sensor...the only thing I have is the new crimp ring and no tool for crimping it! Hopefully when all the parts are here, it's...

'89 Warm start problem. Forum members BEWARE!

As a rookie 'vette owner, I openly appreciate any help/advice I find here. I also try to do most of my own work, A, simply because I like this hobby, and B, I also enjoy saving money when possible. My first line of assistance in the past year has been right here. Always proffessional, sometimes...

Hi Roger, I made the call, was told that the manufacture that was making the part stopped and they are in the process of looking for a new manufacturer. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks

Anyone else know of some where to look to purchase the sensor? NAPAonLine shows the correct sensor, but when you try to order it, they cant find it.

I did get the tube from them. However, if you click on the link, you will see that the sensor is discontinued there also. Thanks for trying!

    looking for sensor

Does anybody know where I can order/purchase the EGR valve temperature sensor? On my '86, this is the sensor that screws into the egr exhaust tube. Cant locate a place that still carries them. Thanks

    Help! I'm stuck.

Did she try with the plug already in the socket? I was afraid of cross threading also, but never saw any evidence of it. I remember dropping the plug several times trying to get it in, even losing it in the A arm sub frame for over an hour. I feel your pain, my hands were numb, bleeding. Wish I...

    Power Window Issue

Watched the travel of the window, nothing seemed to be out of whack by the motor or the base. When I looked towards the speaker box area, there it was....the group of wires going to the outside mirror somehow ended up on the outerside of the window, preventing it from traveling all the way down...
