If the car is an 86 and has a CD then it is not the original radio. CD players were not a factory option in the vette until about 90.
The Bose CD receiver is a direct replacement for the earlier units so I would guess that someone just replaced the head. I don't remember a non-Bose CD player...
Since this is coming down to who can search the net better how about this, the high brake light was manditory for all "cars" from 86 onwards. Who knows the number/designation of the regulation that was put on the books to require this saftey feature? Persoanlly, I have no idea of what the answer...
Try spinning the pump after you get it out to see how little power it takes. It is not a supercharger that is eating up gobs of power. In fact I doubt that you could find a dyno sensitive enough to detect that it's missing.
I guess the weight issues would be real and appearance comes down to...
If you're looking for a C6 I'd wait. Most dealers I've seen are charging a bonus fee for the latest and greatest that might drop after a few months. I doubt that the price would go up.
I took the muffler and lower body support bracket off on that side to get more room to work in. After you get that nut undone the grommett for the wires is the next major PITA.
Also, don't try to cut and splice the antenna wire. Take apart the interior and disconnect it from the connector. The...
VATS was introduced in 86. I'm not sure about keyless entry but I think it was around 92. I know it wasn't available in 87.
I would guess that your no start problem is because of the aftermarket alarm that someone installed.
Replacing the outer door seals on my 87 fixed this problem for me. There's a piece that's attached to it that sits on the inside of the door and pushes the window in (along with the new seal doing it too). After 16 years the rubber got worn out.
There are also two adjustable brackets in there...

I don't know if this will help since the article is for an early C4, but I believe the regulators were the same for everything 86 and later.
For some reason the navigation on the site is screwed up but you can...
It would depend on how the things are wired up. An 87 Grand Prix is setup with all the injectors in parallel on a single power bus. When one goes bad and grounds out, all the current will go to that one. The result is not having enough to make the others work.
I don't have a wiring diagram for...
I have seen a 2.8 v6 have a single injector go bad and take out all the injectors because of the way the power bus is setup. Have you tried testing the injectors with an ohm meter?
How are you getting around the exhaust in the rear? I've been trying to figure out a way to get my rear wheels off the ground without having to do it one side at a time.
I'd make them eat their words on this one. Have them fix the thing then give you a 3year/36000, no deductable, transferable, bumper-to-bumper warranty on the thing. Anything that comes up for the next 3years they get to fix for free. You deserve something for their stupidity and they're the ones...
A motor needs fuel, spark, and air to run. If you've checked fuel and spark and you're sure the're okay, that leaves air.
I don't know the setup on a Tempo but I do know on a GM-2.8L in an old S-10 Blazer the EGR can get stuck and suffocate it.

I guess code 36 was used for a few different things. How are you checking the code? Are you shorting the ALDL or using some reader? If it's a reader, is it specifically for a Vette?
If your using a reader I'd try shorting out...
