    Eureka Springs GTG.....Anyone going??

My wife and I went there Thursday morning as we do every year. Autocross had been moved from the Chevrolet dealership (now closed) to who knows where: so we spent Thursday in Branson. Friday, we went searching for the registrationand found it at the "Land-O-Nod" motel (horrible location!!!). We...

    New Firehawk runflats seen

So is it available in any C5 sizes? I have Cray Scorpion wheels in Z06 sizes, but have the original regular C5 size Goodyear runflats (yes, this combo works just fine). But with these wheels I can use either the stock C5 tire sizes or the C5 Z06 tire sizes.

    Who's Moving On To A C6?

My 2004 will be in my estate, but I am also seriously looking to buy a 2008 convertible. Here's why - power top roadster, 430 hp with AC (more hp than ANY Vette engine ever made previously with AC, the '69/70 427-390 was the previous max), Z-51 package, heated and cooled seats, navigation...

How do I justify 2 Corvettes?

C5s and C6s not a good investment? Now you're into my area of expertise big time. Look back at 1973 and the first gasoline crisis. Gas prices doubled and all of the car makers went berserk trying to make cars more economical. The Corvettes of the 1970s had less than 200 hp and they are still...

How do I justify 2 Corvettes?

I think I may have made just the right move. Last Wednesday was our anniversary and Friday night was her birthday. She got a card, roses and some expensive personalized/embossed stationery for the anniversary (I got a card and a $5 tire pressure guage). Friday I gave her a nice card and an...

    Question: Opinions on XM Radio?

My wife has it on her 2007 Cadillac DTS; she likes the Heart and Blend channels. I keep my Vette's CD player loaded with 50's and 60's music, mostly doo wop. Currently enjoying recordings of old Wolfman Jack shows. My teen years were the best years of my life and I try to relive them in my...

How do I justify 2 Corvettes?

Here's my problem. I am an empty nester with well established, self supporting children. My wife and I have the following vehicles - 2004 Corvette, 2007 Cadillac DTS Platinum, 2005 Chevy Tahoe Z-71, 1998 Chevy CK 2500 4x4 pickup (tows boat), and a 2003 Triumph motorcycle. Yeah, 5 vehicles for...

    Which wheels?????

I have a 2004 and last winter installed a set of Cray Scorpions in chrome, which are made for the C5 and the stock tires fit these wheels. WOW, they make the car look way better and seem to double the looks I get. The stock wheels are in storage. The chrome Crays weigh about double what the...

    "You Drive a WHAAT!?"

I am really surprised by most people's ignorance of Corvettes. If you parked a good example of a C4, a C5 and a C6 next to each other most people couldn't guess which is the latest model. Further, to most non-Vette people, it doesn't really matter what model it is - each Corvette is a real...

    Car Trailer

I am sick and tired of detailing my car before a show, then having to try to detail it again after I drive it to a show. Most of the time there is no access to wash facilities and sometimes no shade, much less adequate time. In short, I am in the market for a trailer. Here's what I see. A...

    New CRAY Scorpion Wheels

Based on referral from Chevy dealer that sellls a lot of Vettes, I found a tire dealer in a larger town about 35 miles away who said he can install AND re-train my tire pressure sensors in my Cray Scorpions with Goodyear EMTs. He simply said "no problem". He also said the same regardling an...

    New CRAY Scorpion Wheels

I took the car to the dealer to get the Cray Scorpions installed and they have new machinery that will handle up to 22" custom rims, but they couldn't even get the EMTs off the original rims, much less install the new rims. They took it to the only local tire shop and they had a new Italian...

    New CRAY Scorpion Wheels

Brian the wholesale manager at WheelWarehouse sold me a set of CRAY Scorpions for "wholesale" so a CHROME set with 17x9 fronts and 18x10.5 rears with chrome center caps, chrome lug nuts and chrome wheel locks including shipping to Arkansas was $1,506.00. They look good on my 2004 torch red C5...

    C5's Fall Cruising

Just returned from a Vette ralley in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and was disappointed that they discontinued the traditional moonlight cruise. I guess there were getting to be just too many Corvettes participating for that small town. Then there are always those that have cutouts and love to open...

How much did you pay for your Corvette

2004 Torch Red, Targa Coupe, Oak Interior, HUD, Memory Seats & Mirrors, Sport Seats, 12 Disc CD Changer & Bose Premium Sound System, etc. Bought new in July 2004 with about 12 miles on it when GM offered a $6,000.00 rebate on Corvettes. MSRP was about $47,000, dealer cost was about $42,500...

TO DRESS OR NOT TO DRESS ????

Just my humble opinion, but I automatically relegate "stock" vettes to one of the following - a show car that is always trailered and never driven, a brand new car (possibly a demo), a car owned by someone that really cannot afford to own a Corvette (given to them, won in a contest, etc.), owned...

    Activing Handleing Question

I also find it very easy to break the rear end loose on my car on a dry blacktop road (especially if the blacktop is worn down and the surface is mainly small, smooth rocks) and engage the active handling when the front tires are turned. I have to be especially careful when passing on two lane...

    C5 Recomendations and Cautions

I bought my 2004 new in July 2004. Used the warranty once to replace a split in the console cover; otherwise no problems in 38 months. Have heads-up and and all the electronic goodies (memory seats,etc.). I did absolutely panic once. I have a Vararam intake and it came loose at the intake...

Doctor says I don't have much time

Welcome to the club (those without much time that is). My wife calls our vette "heart attack" as on the way to the hospital with my 3rd heart attack I swore that if I lived through it, I would buy a new Corvette. And I did both. I have had 3 heart attacks, have 2 stents, have Type 2...
