    Recalled

Dealer called and said the buggy was ready. He said the recall was mostly to check for bad ball joints, but there were some replacement parts installed.

    Recalled

Got a notice on my 2004 last Friday in the mail and the dealership service writer said to bring it straight in as it was a front end suspension/steering required parts change and not really safe to drive. He printed out about 20 pages of instructions and parts lists for the recall and said it...

    Goodyear to Michelin

Good Post. I've had good luck with Frog tires on other vehicles.

    C5 Resale Values

When you consider that lots of new 2004 coupes sold in the $34K to $37K range then $26.5K for a 4 year old car is excellent in my book. Try getting $15K for a low-mileage 4 year old Lincoln that sold for $50K. I bought a loaded signature series 5 year old Town Car 3 years ago with 10,000 miles...

    Driving Habits

I don't drive more agressively with the accelerator, but I do drive more agressively with (with less?) the brakes in that I corner at much faster speeds in the Corvette. After injuring myself severely in an SUV rollover that I wouldn't have believed could happen if it hadn't, I take it very...

Wife filled 02 Coupe With 87 Octane....

Lets see my wife gets all of my paycheck which goes into our account, but she keeps the checkbook in her purse at all time. She has a separate account and she keeps that checkbook too. I have no accounts. I don't think this method will work for me. However since her much more expensive...

    Hotels in Bowling Green

JC4 - You are welcome, enjoy. I have a confession to make. The executive director of the museum invited our club out to his farm for a BarBQue and our club started from the museum. After passing over the last speed bump on our way out, each of us attempted a small burn out in the museum...

    Hotels in Bowling Green

DO NOT stay at the Continental which is the closest to the assembly plant. I was there last Thursday night. The motel is occupied mostly by construction crews with long term rentals and these are young guys who like to drink, holler and party most of the night. The motel is old, dirty and way...

    Goodbye

Individual's luck with vehicles seems almost random, but I'm sure there is some underlying reason in how or when we drive. Every Ford I have ever owned with the exception of a '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe, was a classic lemon and only one of about twenty GM vehicles gave me any problems (an '82...

C-5 LeMans Pace Car at Barrett Jackson

The 2003 C5 LeMans Pace Car went for $47,500 as I recall at the Palm Beach auction. But, most of the muscle cars were off about 50% in price from the last Scottsdale auction. Is the Scottsdale money just looser or is the market for muscle cars (comprised mainly of old guys who couldn't afford...

    Replies to my Buy '04

I'm still finding stuff after 9 months. Maybe I should open the manual or watch the DVD. No I think I'll leave the DVD wrapped up, maybe in 50 years someone at a Barrett-Jackson auction will pay and extra $1,000,000 because I didn't unwrap the DVD.

    Exhaust Advise

Edmond - Yeah, the watch is a Seiko Chronograph with a sapphire crystal and I bought it for the same reason - incredible light weight. I found it at a Seiko factory outlet in Branson, MO. The revolver is a Taurus Tracker, 7 shot, 357 magnum with 4 inch barrel; only the barrel liner and firing...

    Exhaust Advise

Titanium's claim to fame is based solely on its strength to weight which is better than aluminum. But like aluminum its fairly soft and damages easily. The real bulletproof exhaust systems are made of stainless steel. Aluminum at one time was more valuable than gold or platinum, then someone...

    Convertible, Targa, Z06, Z51

If there had been a hard top convertible, that would have been #1; but since they didn't the only other choice was the Targa, and I do my own performance mods.

    Hows it feel ??

I was able to buy the exact car I wanted in June 2004 at dealer invoice less a $5,000 factory discount, my distant second choice was a C6 convertible that wouldn't be available for 9 months and would cost approximately $20,000 more. Buying the 2004 C5 was a no brainer.

    1st Day of Spring!

I probably should be shot, but I had 4 laborers work working from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM Saturday at my place and Sunday I was almost completely worn out. I did drag my motorcycle out and get it detailed before a short spring ride, but the Corvette didn't get touched. Its pretty pitiful too as...

    See Yall at Bowling Green

If you get to go to the April C5 homecoming in Bowling Green and see a 2004 Targa in Torch Red with white CE stripes and loud GHLs - its probably me. Hopefully, I will have my new vanity plates before then - ROCNROL. At the Eureka Springs rally there must have been 200 Torch Red C5s, but only...

    Not for nothin', but ....

The "other" Corvette forum has a big following of what I call professional forum posters who must either be on welfare, independently wealthy or retired as many have averaged over 20 posts a day for years. I believe this significantly devalues the forum as the vast majority of posts are just...
