Tony,
I used a sissors jack from an old s10 and found the bolt down holes that are in the front of the door and behind the door on both sides. The jack had a half round which actually matched the bolt down's (for lack of a better description, as there are plenty of far more experienced C5...
I concur Vette Pilot, hitting anything at or above the speed limit is seriously a really bad career move. I totalled out an 87 by being double tee boned. Turned the C4 into a C3 quicker than you can imagine.
Again, the reason for my posting is chain is not to find ways to speed necessarily...
I am looking at the valentine, but I kind of look at this more as an engineering angle. I completely concur with Sil as that I do not speed, just because I can. More so in the angle of this being a mathematical problem.
I know that my car can do twice the speed limit (easy). Am not inclined to...
Mine is dark blue but is a convertible. But does anyone know what they reflect off of when they use the laser. Am just curious.
I got a ticket for 79 in a 65 in my knock around (eagle vision). But, it does have a very low drag cofficent and not very much that the officer could have used to...
Now I know that fiberglass does not reflect radar so therefore it goes through to the engine. And, as long as my lights are off they can really use laser against me that well. My question is what do they use to determine my speed. Finally, how can I become more steathy besides buying a Camary...
This might be a silly question but its almost time to bring out my toy again and I'd like try some shows. My question is while my toy is on blocks, I have really easy access to the wheel wells. Should I detail the wheel wells and if so with what.
Sounds like this is really a question for C4C5Specialist.
Art, we've all travelled down some rather rough roads. I honestly believe that my reward for those pot holes is the vette I now own. Your completion of the Shelby was a goal and promise that you kept with your daughters. Your reward is...
I completely concur with Rob's assessment. What you have IS unique. Even though the thought did cross my mind to volunteer to trade as well. But I cannot escape the feeling that I would be getting the better end of the bargain. Don't get me wrong, I love my C5. Your car IS rare and as such a...
The whinning sounds like the throw out bearing had rusted up a little.
The backfire might be because of timing, you might check there first. Other than that, you do need the codes.
Good luck
Mike
Historically, the standard makes the Vette more valuable.
However, its all a matter of personal choice. I have a 6 and am glad I do. It does provide more control over the car than an automatic.
Trying to add some brevity to an otherwise grinding situation, 69. Nikki sounds like quite a lady and you are lucky.
Keep us informed as to the solution and cause of the problem. I also have a y2k.
I had this with my 87. The gears in it were not very good. With the reduction of parts in the C5, bet you're glad it's still under warranty. The headlight is one unit now. Still it sounds as tho it might be just a break in problem.
Sorry 'bout being in the dog house tonight. It's really...
Sounds to me like you might have a bad cell. Since the Delco has a chance of leaking onto stuff that it really shouldn't, consider replacing battery with a gel battery. It's cheap insurance.
My battery is good for upto 1 month with no trickle right now.
Check the spark. I had a MGB that the coil went south and it was only when hot. The break in the wire would separate when the coil was hot. It was tough to start with no spark.
Had a bumper sticker "Parts falling off this vehicle are the finast British Manufacture"
I considered the C4's and C5's before purchasing my C5. I also wanted a convertable and therefore gave up the hp of the z06. I am tremendously impressed by the vehicle and once I do ever find limitations related to hp, handling or braking, I will upgrade. The first thing am looking at is cold...
A California car generally refers to the additional emissions equipment needed to meet CA's requirements. It used to mean less hp, more weight, more breakage... Now most cars emissions will meet CA's requirments. The advantage of some CA cars is that they don't see the salt we see in New England
Welcome,
Mine is parked as well waiting for the sweepers and a good rain before it touches pavement again. Darn thing looks great even in the garage.
