Hope to take delivery in the Spring of 09 Late March in Bowling Green then take a extended road trip up the east coast and back along the great lakes and then back to Norman, visit family...
Welcome, from another Normanite. You may see me tooling around town in my 76 and in Spring you should see me in my brand new '09'. Hope to take delivery at the musem next spring. Welcome
Paul
Ok, gmjunkie I will take you up on the offer, "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey" should be cold enought to keep my wife's feet cool on a 95 deg Oklahoma Aug day (the eng temp never gets above 190 so I know the eng is not running hot). I guess the best place to start is get the...
Great post, I wish I had your problems, 55 deg air would be great! I never got my 76 down below 70. I converted to R134 and install a part called a VIR eliminator (dryer) but it never worked right, may never of had a correct charge not sure, now I have leak in the tubing right behing the...
Its the large rubber, frame to pump hose that is in bad shape, the small rubber one, vent hose is fine and the metal hose seems to be in good shape although it is leaking at the fitting where the metal hose hooks to the pump. Not sure if its the hose or pump that is leaking.
Mikey has it right, after more research it appears I am looking at the fuel pump. How hard is that to change, also the rubber hose seem to be cracked and need replacement is that going to be a big deal?
I seem to be leaking fluid from the EEC assembly located in from of the right motor mount. This part is part of the emission system and is supposed to trap fuel vapor in a filter then its burned up when the engine is running. I seem to be leaking from the this part, is it possible that the...
Wow you answered your own question thats pretty cool, so do tell how do you do it and can be done on a 76, i hate not having a tack but don't want to remove the dash again to get at the tack circuit board? :)
It just looks like something that should be fixed soon so I am going to talk to the shop tomorrow, any idea what something like that should cost to get replaced?
Thanks, I am going to replace the boot fix the stripped bolt in the pan and leave the cable unconnected unless some tells me I really need to hook it up, everything works good now so I don't want to mess up anything. Not sure if the column lock out works or not may check that before I put it...
Question about a part I found which appears to be broken, see pictures, its on the front of the engine on the balance weight for the crank shaft??;shrug
I think that is the proper name but not sure, anyway it looks like some kind of snap ring and its broken, not sure how long its been broken but...
Hey, just a couple questions about my transmission linkage. As you can see by the attached pictures there is one cable that is not connected, I am assuming it goes to the pin with the cotter key but not sure why this is not connected. I have had the car for 5 years and it has been this way the...
I have some play in the steering, and the adjustment screw is down to just about two threads showing, all the ball joints seem of and the rag joint is ok, but going to replace it at the same time. So I just assumed that it was the steering box.
I am going to replace my steering box, and wanted some input on if I should go with new or rebuilt? It does not appear to be a item I would want to rebuild myself.
Also any special things I should know about the removal and installation?
