First let me say that AC DEelco batteries suck. I have the ZR1, a Trailblazer and a Camaro and none of the batteries lasted more than 2-3 years. Second look at the power window switches in the up position. The only way I found it bad was to disconnect the battery and when hooked up you could...
When I had my '66 I changed the fluid a couple of times in the 20 years I owned it. Remember to add the additive. The original additive was produced from whale oil and it worked fine. When they changed to something else (save the whales) it took two bottles of GM additive to work for me...
I think I read a couple of years ago that a test mule convertible was located in England. The problem was it was partially crushed but the person in posession of it was going to attempt to restore it. I haven't heard anything about it since. I still believe the widening started at the door...
I bought mine from Mid America when I first bought my ZR1 and they work. I have been to Bowling Green 3 times and once to Gordon's and there is not a nick on the the car. They are a must if you want to Autocross and still have a decent looking paint job. They only require them to be attached by...
I believe it is under the dash. I think it is accessable by removing the passenger side panel to gain access to the center of the dash.. I think if you check you will find that your brake lights don't work either.
A standard C-4 windshield will fit a ZR-1. However if you are buying it for collector purposes it does make a difference. A replacement original windshield is going to be expensive, that's if you can find one. They had a laminating problem that I have seen in about 25% of the ZR-1's I have...
The C5/C6 are comfy but I like dropping into the seat. It is cozy and makes you feel like part of the car. I'll stick with my '92. Except for the headlights I really like the lines of the C6.
A co-worker is looking at a 2002 6 speed with 25k miles. Is there any particular things to look for in this year. He thinks he can get it for $28k. Any comments would be appreciated. It was formally a lease car. Car fax comes up clean.
Several years ago I had an '87 with the same problem. I finally chased it down to the passenger side power window switch in the up side. The only way I found it was to disconnect the battery and then hook it up and the switch relay clicked. Good luck!
Back in '78 I ordered $250 worth from what was then T Michalis Corvette parts in Ohio. He went bankrupt and I never got my money back. He became Pro team which is probably is worth millions. Will I ever see my money. I doubt it, but people will still buy cars from him.
What a load of crap. It sounds like a cheaper way for them to get you out of there. I would like to know just how they flush the oil filter, without removing it, and the oil system. I change all the fluids and do all the servicing on all three of my vehicles. I don't even trust dealerships...
I found a product from Adams. It is a spray product that I have used for a few years on the hoses, and plastic parts and it does a very good job. Stay away from Armor all on rubber of any kind. Adams has a Web site.
I had a '66 327/350 a few years ago that had a simular problem. Every 2/3 weeks I would take it out and it would run like c**p. I was always taking out the points cleaning and regapping them. I finally Installed a Mallory Unilite and never had a problem with it after that. Unless you take...
I used speed bleeders and did all the fluid change by my self, it was very easy and quick. It took me more time getting it in the air and all the wheels off than actually changing the fluid. Speed bleeders are the only way to go. A tip, if you still have the original brake hoses on it might...
I have not had any major issues with my ZR1 yet. The only problems I had were oil cooler hose leaking and a front brake hose collapse. I have had it for 6 years. No! I have not had it on the 1/4 track. The only mods I've done were the K&N filter, Corsa exaust, Coplan, and relocated MAT sensor.
When this question comes up in conversation I always point out the LT5 was not put in anything but a ZR1 not a truck, not a Camaro or Firebird. How many of the Corvettes out can say the same.
