Wish I had taken a picture of my FRC stuck in the snow on the side of the street as I unloaded her after my trip to Philadelphia. She's in a parking garage now with all the salt and chemicals on her. If the weather stays as warm as it is now and the snow melts away I may try to get her cleaned...
Nice. You have a nicely optioned FRC Tammy. With AH, the HUD and also the driving lights you've got all the options I wish my FRC had. At least it's still Pewter. :)

If the DIC says "Traction Control" on/off then you don't have Active Handling and therefore no Competition Mode. My FRC has traction control only but I wish I had the Active Handling. Please verify that the DIC does in fact say Active Handling and not Traction Control. I'm betting that you...
In 2001 the HP was bumped to 315 in a 3086lb package. The original M Roadster came with 240 and don't confuse it with the M3 of that year which is likely the weight you quoted. Totally different car.

Didn't say M3 but M Roadster, essentially a Z3 with a 315bhp engine @ 3k lbs. It is not to be taken lightly if you run across it.
Remo, I'm hardly an old man and will lay the hammer DOWN if I need to. :) I'm still young and irresponsible. :D

PKE was available on 94-96 C4's and 97 to 99 or 00 C5's. I have mine in the off position all the time as well on my C5. The PKE system in my 95 worked much better and the C5 would unlock and lock the car randomly when the fob was in range. The C4 never did this. In the middle of the night I...
If it's a regular Z3 then you are absolutely correct. If it's an M Roadster then be prepared to eat your words. It WILL run with a C5 and will outrun your C4. I was following a guy in an M Roadster in my C5 when he got on it and it was faster than I expected. Didn't get a chance to line up...
Can you provide a link to the set up you purchased? I will be interested in doing this in the future. That is unless I just give it to Lingenfelter to do. :)

80k? Keep driving!
Mobil 1 is what you want to use in either 5W-30 or 10W-30. I wouldn't use any 40 weight oil in the car as the engine is designed for the 5 or 10W-30. Enjoy the ride and keep driving. As 6shooter said, you've just broken it in. ;)

Congratz!! You will thoroughly enjoy the C5. I'm sure there will be plenty other questions as you get accustomed to the car so ask away!
Get us pictures when you can.

My reason for patching versus plugging would be the affect on the balance with the plug. I'm not saying a plug WON'T fix the leak but my thinking was that it is a heavier solution and more likely to affect balance. I'm not a tire expert so maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.
If...
Do NOT plug these tires. Take the tire down to a repair shop and have them patch it from the inside. The only reason that they will give you to replace it is if the hole is too close to or in the side wall. A patch will cost about $50 but way cheaper than the cost of a new tire.

Personally I'd keep looking on all accounts. Price is too high for the '97 and the '01 needs too much repair. You should have no problem finding a car for the price you are looking to spend just don't make the mistake of buying one of the first ones you look at. I wish you luck on your search...
