Gasoline drip while changing fuel filter

94 - Gasoline drips while I'm disconnecting/connecting the inlet hose on the new fuel filter, (ACDelco). The line comes from the gas tank, and is probably lower than the tank, directly connected, so the fluid drips from the any available hole, in this case the open inlet pipe. Is there a way...

    C4/LS1/ZF6 ?

    Will an LS1 fit into a C4(94)? Will an LS1 take the C4's ZF6?

    Flowmasters?

I've got Flowmasters on my 94. Love the sound. I agree with the "deep" rumble description and they do gurgle on decceleration. When I'm parking at work, I shift into second in the parking garage to drop the rpm and almost always setoff a car alarm or two. I'd swear that sometimes they...

    A/C Numbers

Ambient minus 25 to 40 puts me right in the range, actually a 36 degree drop. I expect to see a smaller drop as temperatures increase. Thanks

    Working on your C4...

At least on a C4 you won't have to set Dwell angles any more. Think you see a lot of pavement on a C3? You've never worked on a 78 Malibu. You could rent a studio apartment down there.

    which year to buy

There are really two C4's. The 91-96 should have been called C4.5 - LT1. ZR-1 styling, the ZF6, ABS and traction control, big, big improvements. How can you knock sharing the same transmission with the ZR-1?

    flush cooling system?

Also check for debris in front of the radiator - when I bought my 94, it looked like a bird's nest was plastered to the radiator.

Moog Ball Joint Fits - Loose?

I spoke to Moog technical support - the guy said the upper ball joints have be redesigned and the four bolts are sufficient. Thanks for the replies.

Moog Ball Joint Fits - Loose?

I'm replacing my original upper ball joint on the left side due to a torn boot. My mechanic also tells me the tire wear patterns point to the same ball joint, (and 95K miles). I'm replacing it with a Moog. The original ball joint lightly tapped out with a hammer quiet easily. What worries me...

    buying auto vs manual

My 94 is a 6spd, its a DD and I drive in traffic to work everyday. 80 mile round trip, with 20 miles of often bumper to bumper traffic. I'D NEVER DRIVEN A STICK BEFORE EXCEPT FOR A CROSS COUNTRY DRIVE IN A RENT-A-TRUCK FROM NY TO FLORIDA IN 1985. I love the stick and wouldn't have it any other...

Blown head gasket on my 1988 L-98

When my headgasket blew, I had very, very thick white smoke out of the exhaust, and horrible overheating, bubbling, boiling radiator fluid. The car drove so terrible I didn't drive more than 10 mph home. When I finally pulled the head, I couldn't believe the gasket still looked 98% OK, just a...

    Power Buffing

The picture is small but the car does look nice. We almost have twins, note that mine is a 94 polo green. Thanks for detailed explanation.

    Power Buffing

Good idea with the masking tape and the recommendation to avoid edges/corners. Thanks, very good point.

    Power Buffing

Understood, thanks. I'm doing a lot of research and going to test the procedure on my 98 Windstar first. How's that for a set of priorities?

    Power Buffing

I'm going to pick up a Poter Cable 7424. Meguiar's recommends a yellow pad with M80 Speed Glaze followed by a tan foam finishing pad with NXT Tech Wax. Question 1. I'm sure Meguiar's sells a good pad. Any other recommendations? Question 2. If I understand what I've read, the Glaze/Wax is...
