    Towing and Driving in snow/ice

Agreed... Vettes aren't bad at all in the snow with winter tires on all four wheels as long as the snow doesn't get too deep. You can probably easily find a low cost, pre-owned, front wheel drive drive car to use during the winter if you don't want to drive the Vette. Use the same philosophy...

    Bottoming out

The answers to your questions are already in the posts in this thread. If you're driving on a normal road... No worries. Off of a paved road, driving up steep driveways or over speed bumps use common sense and approach at a reasonable speed. While driving the spoiler will usually drag first but...

    Bottoming out

Seriously... This is nothing to worry about. Just remember you're not driving a Jeep and you'll be okay.

    Daily Driver

Why not? I drive mine anytime I want... No restrictions. One reason I've never bought a new Vette is because you can get such a great deal on Vettes that some owners are trying to "preserve" for some reason. It's their car so they can do what they want but for me driving time is better than...

    Daily Driver

Lucky you don't live out here in the Southwest... You'd get very little driving time if you don't want to let it "bake"... LOL! Just like rain/snow doesn't hurt a Vette neither does the heat. I've driven mine through Death Valley in the summer out here at 130 degrees. It cruises just fine and...

    Dings and scratches

I do my best to keep my Vette looking great but I also realize that on the road things happen. Most people I know think my Vette is flawless because I always keep it looking so nice... But I know it's not. I bought my Vette to drive not to look at... So I just take it in stride. I'd prefer to...

How are the 1996s holding up?

Agreed! I am glad these people buy their Corvettes as garage ornaments rather than drive them. This way I get a great deal on a nearly new high performance automobile and they take care of the depreciation hit. I got my C4 this way and I've been enjoying it immensely! I just bought another...

    the decline of the C4

Actually from what I've seen in my local market C5s and C6s are really falling in value too. One of my neighbors bought an 06 C6 coupe for $27K. It has 83K miles and is in excellent condition. Another guy I know bought a 98 C5 coupe with about 89K miles in excellent condition for $11K. Both were...

    C4 Brake Rotors

I've decided to do a brake job on my 96 C4 with 53K miles this week. This is the first time I've done a brake job in quite awhile. I bought OEM pads for the job. One question... Can the brake rotors on a C4 front and rear be turned/refinished? It looks like my front left rotor definitely needs...

    Thinking about a C4

The opti spark is nothing to be concerned about. I think opti problems are just over blown hype especially with the MSD units available. Just drive the Vette, service it regularly and enjoy it... JMHO...

Welcome! Best polish for the GRP body - Use whatever you like. You don't need anything special. I use Zymol. Recommended engine oil. - Check your owner's manual... You won't go wrong. Thinking about a C4

My neighbor and good friend has an 84 and I have a 96 Vette. Both have been very reliable and easy to work on. I've driven mine from 120F in Death Valley CA to -20F in Wyoming, and from the bone dry desert here in Nevada to the soaking cold rains in Seattle. It's handled any weather conditions...

    Gas prices changing anything?

No changes for me. I expected gas prices to go up higher than they have.

for sale -vs- part out car

If you have a nice Vette outside of this stalling problem....Why not sell it whole to someone else? Just looking at your engine mods shows you put a lot of time, care and resources into your Vette. It would be a shame to destroy a nice Vette for such a small problem. I almost lost a great high...

    Rain - what Rain?

Rain is almost non-existant here, but I'm not uncomfortable driving my Vette when it does rain. It just takes more time to detail it, the next time I wash it, which is usually immediately after the rain clears out.
