That's exactly what I did on mine--added the X-pipe after the Stingers. I have not tested it other than SOTP, but it felt a bit stronger. I installed the Magnaflow X-pipe. The thing I liked the most was that it DID cut the popping down and smoothed the sound of the exhaust out. From what a...
Differences in dyno's gas, temp, etc. will create a range in figures for the HP ratings. Here in SoCal, I've heard that 350-360 HP is about the norm for a stock Z.
I turned a 358HP/349TQ on a 70* morning, last June, running 92 octane. My only mod at the time was a set of Borla 2-tip...
...it's the sound of laughter from the joy of driving :Steer such an awesome car! :L
All of you that came in to see how it could be fixed--hahaha--you can't fix it! More mods just seem to make it louder! ;LOL ;LOL ;LOL
...gee, I'm nuts! :beer
Ken,
I gotta agree with Tom--the biggest improvement that I got was smoothing out the exhaust sound and getting rid of the deaccel popping. On the other hand, a friend of mine who installed one on his C5 auto said he realized a noticible improvement with the X-pipe and Stingers.
You gotta...
I've turned into an Adam's convert after Ken and I met Adam and were treated to some of his products to try out. I still have my Zaino and NXT, but never use them anymore on my Z--I've pretty much relegated them to the "other" cars, as I didn't want to just throw them out. :)
Try Adam's...
Craig,
I've found Corvette Magazine to have more articles of interest for those of us that own later models of Vettes, with less of the "club newsletter" format that a lot of the others have. I guess until we get an older model Vette we don't have as much interest in the how-to articles that...
Aside from smoothing out the exhaust, cutting down on the deacceleration popping, and a SOTP conclusion that there is more power, I just had one BIG benefit pointed out to me the other day. I had a guy in a Impala SS pull up to me at a stoplight and ask what I had, 'cause my car "sounded...
Well, I'm off to Bowling Green, Kentucky this Wednesday to visit the NCM, Vette Assembly Plant, and attend the Z06Fest. If you're anywhere near there, you may want to drop by. Check the links from the National Corvette Museum for info...
303 Aerospace Protectant is the choice for me. You'll commonly find it in boater's supply stores, such as Boater's World or West Marine. Typically about $20 for a 32 oz. spray bottle.
JB--I e-mailed them and it sounds like I'll need that CD changer harness and the GM-10 adapter.
Now that you have that hooked up, do you just push the AUX button on the head unit to select your IPOD (or other input you may connect)? What are you doing to provide power to your IPOD--lighter...
