    Daylight Running Lights

I've been running the switch back DRL's in the 98 for over a year with no problems. That's why I was curious to know exactly what type problems Junkman was referring to. I'm guessing it's with LED's that are not capable with replicating the DRL/Parking light/Turn signal functionality. Early...

Are you refering to LED switchback DRL's or replacement "amber" LED's? Any details on the "few issues" appreciated. thanks

    Help! Headlight retraction Fault

I suspect the issue is with the headlamp control module but can't say that for sure. I know this has been a known issue with some of the ACA HID mod's sold/installed over the years and if the quick fix of hitting the high beams corrects the problem and closes the headlamps, the missing resistor...

    Help! Headlight retraction Fault

Your low beam ballasts might be 35w or under 55w and not drawing enough current for the control module to detect them. That is why when you click on your high beams and then shut off the headlamps the headlight doors will close normally. The fix for this is usually to place a resister in the...

    Daylight Running Lights

If the DRL light assembly is original two contributors are possible. 1. The bulb has burnt a hole thru the plastic housing directly above the bulb, which lets water enter the housing. Water runs onto the bulb and into the socket causing a short and blown bulb. 2. The sockets electrical...

    Question: Projector Headlights

I replaced the oem halogen headlight housings with HID Projector lens for the low beams. I did not select the lens with the halo option. The improvement is substantial over the stock housings. I also upgraded the fogs to HID at the same time.

    Air cleaner box

My 98 did the same. A quick fix is to put something that acts as a wedge between the airbox cover and the strap, a small piece of hard rubber the width of the strap, 1/8 inch thick and about 1 inch long. Just wrap a piece of electrical tape around it on the strap. Install it about midway down...

Trouble replacing air filter in C5-help!

Heres a link to a post that discussed this subject. Think the link to the study is in the first post http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62715&highlight=delco+air+filter

Trouble replacing air filter in C5-help!

Greg C, we all find our comfortable way of doing it. My recommendation to remove the entire airbox was to ensure those two straps were properly attached at the base of the airbox. The easiest way for that is removal. Those two hex bolts don't need removal. If you simply push the front cover...

Trouble replacing air filter in C5-help!

Pop the entire airbox assembly out of the car. There are two posts and grommets at the lower front of the airbox. Its easy to get it loose from the front of the car, just go in between the front facia and the open hood. Take the whole airbox out and reinstall the bands, filter holder/filter...

How long do tire pressure sensors last?

I lost two sensor shortly after installing new wheels (OEM Y2K) and GY EMT's. Those lasted about 6 years. The remaining original sensors are still working fine. My car was built in Jan 98, so they are 7 old now. My cars under extended warranty, so the sensors are covered for the next couple...

    Front License Plate How To?

There are two phillips head screws located on the bottom edge of the plate cover. Just removed those screws and the plate cover. A few vendors sell clear molded plastic plate covers that will at least restore some of the aerodynamics of the front facia.

    Passenger side footwell light?

My 98 has one on the flat area under the glove box, about 3 inches in from the passenger side kick panel. Look for the clear plastic lense cover.

new tire sensors will not work, why??

The old style sensors 97-00 will work. I'm running 2001 high polished wheels on my 98. Your sensors have to match the receiver thats in the car. In your case you need the old style sensors. They look different in appearance, but I don't know where a quick reference picture would be located...

new tire sensors will not work, why??

If you or the dealer can't get the sensor relearn procedure to work it's possible that you have the incorrect sensors installed. C5's have two different sensors, model years 97-00 and 01-04. You might try the "search" function to see if you can find pic's of the two diffent models.

    Spare tire

Looks like you've got some options here: If your current tires have the sensors installed and you want to get the remaining treadwear use: a. Get a patch kit, compressor, jack and wrench b. Take your chances, call a tow service, or car club (AAA) No sensors, good treadlife...
