As another alternative, I used liquid nails for fiberglass on my hood and so far it seems to work real well. It was clear, so I glued it before I DP90'd the underside of my hood. It turns rock hard in about a day........
Hey Marlar- I double checked my booster this weekend while working on the car- I left the studs from my old single master on the firewall too, and you use the lower 2 holes for the lower legs. I made my own strap for the upper legs like you did. I also did not use an extra bracket for the...
I think the vendor got you a little mixed up. You have to remove the lower studs that are spot welded to the brake pedal bracket under the firewall. That's sort of a pain, but you can do it with a die grinder and hammer. There is also an upper bracket that rivots to the firewall inside of the...
Hey Marlar- the power booster will have 4 legs on it to bolt to the firewall. The bottom 2 legs go where the old single master cylinder bolts on, and then you will have to drill two more holes up higher where the other two legs set. There is a production bracket that you can get at any...
Stan and Junk- iF you use a VOV, does that mean you don't have to touch the POA valve? I have read on some air conditioning forums that to get R134 to work in a R12 system, you have to mess with the low side setting down to 26.5psi (as junkie indicated). In my case, I have an STV in the 66...
Nick- I go out there a lot too for work. If you are there over a saturday, go down to the "Pavillion" which is a strip mall in downtown Scottsdale. There is a huge cruise night that happens every saturday evening (like 5-9pm) with hundreds of cars. Take north 101 and get off at Indian Bend rd...
wow
That's pretty funny- I am 29, so the only thing I know about them is the stories that are passed along- Never heard that one!! So a HOT massive pile of corvette parts eh? Never heard the slammer story either.....
did you see page 50?
Funny you posted that- I was digging through a bunch of old mag's my dad gave me and found that exact one a couple weeks ago! Small world. Do you have a scan of the article on page 50 of that magazine titled "The corvette Tycoon"- the story of a 25 year old Terry...
I did a similar thing- I stuck some old leftover rear spring cushions on top of the crossmember near the tunnel on both sides and it gave me a ton of extra clearance. Didn't hurt the rest of the body shimming either. It'll creak a little when you wedge em in, but it won't break the floor.

Thanks for the welcome Barry! I am very familiar with Mr. JohnZ from the corvetteforum and the camaro forum. Got to meet him in person at the Paragon car show too. Imense wealth of knowlege- Whenever he speaks... I listen!!
I will try and get some better pics of the paint when I get home...
HEy Barry- I just painted my 66 with PPG BC/CC Milano Maroon. I was not able to compare it yet to an original, but I am happy with it. It has a lot of metallic in it, but VERY fine. You can't tell until you are right on top of it. Unless you want to spend big $$ and get a custom computer...
pictures look great! What wheels are you going to put on it? What is your powertrain combo? I just finished paint myself, I know how good it feels to get that out of the way!
