I have done it twice with my 77. I had to slide it off the jack to get it out from under the car and then get it back up on the jack to get it back in. Not a lot of fun, but easily doable.
My 77 is anything but stock. Aftermarket TPI 383 stroker with Accel Thruster management system. Wideband O2.
700R-4 with JL Transmissions blow proof bellhousing and 3.70 rear gears. 18" x 8" front with 255/45-18" and 18" x 9 1/2" rear with 275/40-18". Front monoleaf with Bilstein sports and...
I bought my '02 6 speed coupe last Nov. with 8500 miles on it. 1 owner and loaded. Traded the ex's 2008 Infiniti EX35 even for it. They were asking $23,900.00 for it. I owed $17000.00 on the Infiniti. Decent deal???
my logic says that hundreds of thousands of Vettes are without the heat shield and don't have the problem -especially at 'operating temperature.' what's the probablility of getting 3 defective starters, all failing the same way, "heat sink," on a stock '58 engine? pretty remote. why don't 100%...
My experience with this was also from the 60's. My brother had a 58 that after driven till it got up to normal operating temp, if shut off wouldn't start till cooled off. No audible click. I drove it on more than one occasion and always made sure not to shut it off unless I was going to be there...
It's a speed sensor used for either an electric speedometer or a computer. An OBD1 computer will throw a check engine light if there's no speed sensor hooked up. (At least the one I used to have did.) You can remove it being as how it's not hooked up anyway. I removed the cruise from my 77 and...
I had the same problem. I would fill up and the gauge would only read 7/8. When it got to 5/8 it would drop to empty and the check gauges light would come on. At around 1/2 it would start working again but when it worked it's way to empty, I still had 6 gal in the tank. Went through 3 bottles...
They're out there. I just picked up an '02 with 8536 miles on it for $23000.00. It has HUD, memory seat and steering column, auto headlights, dual climate control, 12 disc changer, active handling, glass roof, chrome wheels and looks llike brand new! I traded the Infiniti my ex-wife left even...
The gauge in my 02 did the same thing. I put 1 bottle of the Techron plus in a full tank and didn't even get 50 miles and the gauge started working again. Super!!
I have the First system on my 77. The only thing I would reccommend is buying their manifolds and plenum and going with the Accel DFI controller from either Jegs or Summit. That's what I ended up doing. They sell the system with an OBD-1 computer from 1990 and it's not self learning. As far as...
Not sure about the 68, but my 77 has a fusible link on the starter. Pop that and you have nothing. It should be a seperate 14 gauge wire I believe. Most of the time the wire will melt inside the insulation so you have to feel for the soft spot. Art
I rebuilt all four of mine 3 1/2 years and 25000 miles ago with o-ring kits from Eckler's or Mid america, I can't remember which. My brakes work great now. Art
Not sure about the rear compartments in yours but in mine there are handles. As far as the seats--I have C5 sport seats out of a 2000 in my 77 sitting on the stock 77 seat tracks. I'm 6'2" and I still have headroom. Much more comfortable than even the originals with new foam and leather. (Which...
It's a scam, back away!!!!!
The part about having 5 days to look at it and send it back got me. I saw another that was exactly the same except they wanted me to send the money to a Canadian bank. They said the financing would go through E-bay. NOT!!!!!. I found out they just copied some pics off...
