They said that the older cars have "frame flex" and will cause windshields/targa tops to crack when the car gets jacked/lifted up.
I was there watching them. It didn't look like they adjusted anything. I am going to have to bring it back because it seems like a wheel weight or weights fell...
Greetings, I took my 94 coupe to Discount Tires about 3 weeks ago. Had a new set of Nittos put on. Car has the factory wheels. When they did the job, they wanted to remove the targa top, pop the rear hatch, hood, and doors. I allowed them to do all except remove the targa roof.
I told them...
I got the actuators back in and everything works!
I did clear the codes by crossing those two pins.
I did turn the ignition on/off three times to do it though. Joe Paco, I bet if you try again it will work.
Okay, I got the actuators out and shipped off to Captain Z CNC. I should have the rebuilt parts back very soon.
Anyway, when I put the actuator back on top of the shock, does it matter how it is postioned?
Does it self calibrate?
Hopefully I'll be back on the road by the end of the week!
Well, I went to a local shop to have the codes pulled with a GM Tech 2 scanner.
I have the codes written down in the garage, but I think it was code 31, 32 & 34. I think they indicate front left and right, and rear right has problems. I pulled the actuators and they both had cracked gears...
Greetings,
I've been away for a while because I sold my 85 coupe, but I just bought a 1994 coupe w/ AT and code P (LT1) motor.
A trouble light is on and I believe it reads "Service Selective Ride Control." It does have the FX3 system.
When I tried pulling codes with my Actron scanner, none...
Great site! That media file was absolutely great too...especially after not having driven my own C4 for several months (due to winter in MN). That sound of the V8 was just what I needed to cure those winter blues. Good work.:upthumbs
That slime stuff is junk. I've used it before and it throws the tires out of balance contrary to what sales people will tell you (or the product label). It really isn't that effective for stopping leaks in my opinion and experience.
My thanks to all of you who have taken the time to reply. The members at this site are so helpful!
I hope to get at this project on the upcoming weekend. bgj
What I was reffering to was, if you use Simple Green, and it runs down the engine block.... isn't the front spring fiberglass? I thought Simple Green had an acid in it that would weaken the fiberglass if too much were used.
I have a 1985 coupe. The plenum looks dirty and kind of old looking. What do you use to clean it or make it look new?
I really don't want to use paint because I don't think that would last. Has anyone ever used one of those scunci (sp?) steam cleaners on the engine compartment?
Thanks, bgj
I wanted to remove the plenum seperately from the runners. If I remember correctly, I removed the four torx bolts on either side of the plenum, the vacuum line at the drivers side rear, and the throttle cable connections. It didn't want to budge. I'm going to make another attempt on my next day...
I have a code 32 that my 1985 coupe is displaying. From my research here, I have decided to replace the EGR switch and the little switch next to it.
On this car, the EGR is roughly under the center of the plenum. I have taken ALL the screws out and disconnected everything...the plenum...
Yes, I just found the problem.
This is the only light affected.
The path to ground on this wire has been broken. I followed the wire. It leads up into a large group of wires (probably 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter). I assume it leads into the wiring harness. I didn't want to cut into the large...
I have a 85 coupe. I was replacing interior lights. The passenger side floor lamp requires a 563 bulb. I just bought two new ones. I have power to the circuit (tested with 12v test light). When I install a new bulb, there is no light from the bulb, but when I check the circuit, there is...
