I hardly consider myself a Porsche/Audi/VW road car fan.
I am in the cult of the R8 and Speed 8 though, so I do have some loyalty to the Audi R10 prototype program.
I'm not well versed on the rules for the prototypes in the Le Mans cars, but why would Audi need to pay off people to tweak the rules when the old R8 and its Bentley twin, Speed 8, was so dominant after 1999 when all the prototype marquees switched over to F1?
I never saw Audi's program as...
I already wrote about making a Corvette brand with different sports cars, but that idea looks to be unpopular .
And just calling the car "Chevrolet Corvette MR" or sometinhg like that is even more unpopular, but why not just use a different name?
GM can make a six-figure mid-engine car and...
Between V6 "Stingray" rumors, 600hp supercharged Blue Devil rumors, AWD Corvette rumors, and mid-engined Corvette rumors (again)- it looks like GM is thinking about a lot of different stuff for the C7/8.
The main question in all these rumors isn't whether or not these "Corvette" iterations...
firstgear- you are absolutely correct. He should have told you he would charge your card up front, or put it on an order form or preorder email or something like that.
The guy's reply was also very unprofessional: "I was on vacation", "I have such low prices that I don't even make any money"...
I would like it the official final name to be something like Zr-1, Grand Sport, Z06R, or maybe Corvette SS.
"Blue Devil" doesn't have the reputation to me that those other names would have. Also would a yellow one be called "Yellow Devil" or still "Blue Devil"? Or maybe they would only offer...
I miss NASCAR not using templates, and Pontiac being a manufacturer, and races at Darlington, and Toyota not being the richest auto company in the world. :cry
I wish ALMS would have more races.
I wonder what kind of gas mileage that thing gets?
It looks like this was one of the 6,853 from 1979 with a rear spoiler, does that make it rare?
I'm sure that because it was in the record breaking smash-hit "Mystery Men" it will go for well over its "buy-it-now price."
I think "wax" might be a bit of an overstatement. I would think it would be harder for regular joes to launch a higher torque car;shrug, but maybe I'm just an idiot.
I think both the cars are great, and both being under six figures MSRP is a great thing to see. Personally, I prefer the Z06...
Just a few things
1. How often do you drive it during the year?
2. What kind of history (if any) do you know about it?
3. How tight of a fit is it? Does it feel as slow as people make it out to be?
4. When some thing breaks what do you do for new parts?
5. Do you think they are worth it...
Does anyone in the forums own one of the old Straight Six Corvettes?
EDIT: MY GOD!!!!!! I wrote V6!!!! I swear to everyone that I knew the Corvette Six was a straight six and not a V6. I feel very ill now. :puke
Please everyone in the C1 and C2 forums forgive me. :hb
