C7 Year Identity?

Wow, it's looking like my previous assumption is correct, there is no visual difference between the various years of the C7. Thanks catbert for your response. ~paul

    C7 Year Identity?

I have a project which requires identifying Corvette years. I'm looking for visual cues that can be used to determine the year of a given C7. For example, 1966 Corvettes have a "Corvette" script in the front left of the hood. No other year has it. Along those lines, is there any way to...

    Z06 air intake question

All valid points. What can I say, an inquiring mind wants to know? But please don't ruin your engine.

Interesting, would like to see how that plays out.

    Z06 air intake question

Is the front opening on the C6 Z06, there is what looks like an air intake, see photo.

I've been told that Z06 engine air does not really enter there, it is just a styling "feature"? True?

    Question: Spotting the C6

Your right it was ugly, too bad they placed it on such an awesome car!! So was the '05 the only Corvette afflicted in this manner?

    Question: Spotting the C6

I am doing a "Corvette Spotter" project and have come to the C6. What, if any, exterior details differentiate the various C6 years? Different badges / emblems, the tail pipes, that sort of thing. I am mostly looking for external differences since this is a "Spotter's Guide" but interior will...

    Help! Spotting the C5

Help! Spotting the C5 Thanks to all for your input about the C5 wheels. I have another question about the 2002 C5. The Corvette was the pace car for the 2003 Indy 500. My understanding is that there was no pace car replica as with previous years; 1998 for example. I've been told that a decal...

    Help! Spotting the C5

Did some more research. I believe this is the N73 wheel. Not very common but extremely good looking and light as well.

    Help! Spotting the C5

I think you are right. For 1998 the Black book lists N73, Magnesium wheels, 1,425 sold or 4.58% of 1998 production. They cost $3,000 (ouch) but what else do we expect for a factory sourced magnesium wheel. It's a similar story for 1999 with 2,029 or 6.1%, at the same price. For 2000 the price...

    Help! Spotting the C5

I am looking at the thin spoke wheels, which, as I understand it, were found on C5s from 2000 to 2004. There seems to be two designs, one slightly thinner at the outer portion than the other. See the attachments. Were both styles found on model years 2000 to 2004? From what I can tell they were...

    Help! Spotting the C5

Thanks for the info on the air intake. I was aware of the '03 50th anniv. emblems, that helps. I am looking at some C5 photos and see some have what looks like a rub strip that starts in the recess in the front air vent / outlet and continues through the door. Is there a reason as to why it is...

    Help! Spotting the C5

Very cool, I was not aware of the missing passenger side door lock, will look into that. I've noticed that there is a distinction in the '98 / '99 hardtop and the 2000+ Z06 with a air inlet in front of the rear wheels, close to the ground. Is that for a transmission cooler? It isn't easy with...

    Help! Spotting the C5

I am doing a "Corvette Spotter" project and have come to the C5. What, if any, exterior details differentiate the various C5 years? I am looking for badges or trim items that can conclusively determine a 1999 vs. ????. For example, in the case of the C2, we all know that a split rear window...

A few pages on my 1968 Safari Yellow convert, comments welcome.

I've deleted the part about the fourth vent being painted black; from what I can now gather it has at least some claim to correctness. Thanks to all who took the time to reply, it is appreciated! ~paul

A few pages on my 1968 Safari Yellow convert, comments welcome.

I was aware of the repositioning of the mirror and the different crank on the 327. I did not know about the different rear wheel spindle or the interior door handle, I'll have to look into that. My own '68 was made on around the last few days of '68 production. I have the UA6 alarm option, but...

A few pages on my 1968 Safari Yellow convert, comments welcome.

I took that info from "Collectors Originality Guide Corvette 1968 - 1982", sold by the NCRS. Page 21 states: "But here is the one exception: for the 1968 327/350, Chevrolet took the base engine's stamped covers and had them flash chromed". I should have specified that this only applies to the...

A few pages on my 1968 Safari Yellow convert, comments welcome.

All: I just finished updating my "Corvette Story" web site with a few pages on my new (to me at least) 1968 Safari Yellow convertible. Take a look at The Corvette Story: 1968 Corvette Owning a Corvette after wanting one for so many years has been an amazing experience that I'll be covering on...

    C1 Photos - Comments appreciated!

    >> 2. not enough variation, too many duplicates from same angle just different car Fair enough. I thought of that as I was putting it together. In some cases I couldn't decide which photo I liked best so I used them both. Many of the photos were taken during a recent C1 convention in Ventura...
