How interesting and very informative. Thank you. I have a 2006 Z06 and seemed to get around all that was mentioned. Suspension? Coilovers and reversed spring rate - higher in front vs back. X-pipe installed with the headers. Since there were only a couple of things mentioned, that is all I...
No. The clear answer is no. Listen to your customers.
Speaking as an owner of cars with all the engines you mentioned:
Leading lines like "or should it stick with the heavier, less fuel efficient V8...." don't bode well. Your mindset is your business. The wording is conflicted with...
Fun engine build movie. Some track clips from last week's PCA event. Shows what can be done when you push the envelope a bit. Have fun!

I read "the LS7 utilizes an internal check bypass valve in the filter itself." However upon removing the oil radiator pipes, I saw some mechanical contraption in between the oil in/out ports on the oil pan. Could this be the bypass valve? If not, what is it?
C6 Z06 LS7.
After 10-5 secs idle suddenly dies down then comes back up. Sometimes it dies completely.
But if the car is ROLLING 1+ mph it idles PERFECTLY.
The closest table I find that differentiates idle from a stop and a rolling is OL & CL > LTFT Idle Cell > Enable VSS and Disable VSS...
Get ready, it's only starting......
It is a great step, but not the end. While is a great car to race along with, I believe the C6R would completely leave me in the dust, the technology there is incredible. With the modularity of the Z06 line, and the many aftermarket producers, comes...
Correct. If you do the math for BSFC for a N/A gasoline powered LS7, or run simulation programs for the LS7, or just divide the % PT loss into engine HP you will be more accurate. The 20% was obviously a guess, it is so far off. Most dyno'd engines are right at spec at 505 HP. This can be...
I ported my intake manifold. I didn't notice more than a slight difference, and have yet to hear a dyno tuner confirm a measurable increase. Nevertheless, every little bit helps.
Correction to the myth of positive crankcase pressure: it does not exist. There is always a vacuum present of -1 to -9 mm. I have a meter on this in fact. :D Also, I have two catch cans installed, which for ME is a lifesaver.
You should have the TB walls even out a bit also. But it is more like 10 RWHP. Nice even throttle response. Be sure the manifold is immaculately clean.
Answer: Alot. I have clear catch cans on the two PCV systems of my C6Z. The front one, the small loop between the valley and manifold, collects alot of oil.
My current weekend project is to measure the vacuum on both PCV lines to study the mechanism. I will then be able to decide how to...
Check the reports on Corvette Forum C6 Z06. One even has a survey.
Regarding the axle nuts, there was a survey about that too. I solved mine by double nutting them.
