That is something i would NOT like to see on my oil drain plug!!

In the first photo over on the lower left there's a piece that looks sorta like a lash cap or maybe a part of a rocker arm.

Was this engine over-rev'ed on a downshift?

It's possible, but not that I ever recall. Considering that I upshift at 6,500 max, I doubt it.

One or two of the pieces look like "sir clips ', or valve spring retainers. I agree, it looks pretty valve related. Sorry to see that, Good Luck! mark

I'd take the engine "out of service" until this gets looked into. Valve covers come off first.

How was the other plug?

hnoeshnoeshnoes...... i see little shavings on my drain plug and get queazyhnoeshnoeshnoes... that they would find me on my back under the lift in a puddle of my own fluids... and the cars!
