Thanks for the reply Hib!
Would the restrictor in the hydraulics cause me to smell clutch material? I only ask because every time that I think the clutch might be spinning I can smell what I think is burnt clutch. Especially yesterday when I tried to do a burn out for my uncle. What...
Hi Doug,
By "not hold up" I mean it slips. When I put my foot on the floor and do a 1-2 shift without lifting off the throttle, it slips some. A 2-3 shift the same way produces more slippage. Just yesterday I tried to spin the tires for a relative and the tires spun, but not much. The...
Hi Guys,
I am reaching out for suggestions. Over the winter, I put a 383 from TPIS into our 90 6-speed. Clay from TPIS told me that any LT4 or LT5 Clutch should work fine with this engine. So, I bought a clutch from Ecklers for a ZR1. I think what they sold me was a clutch for a 1990 ZR1...
We decided that she was worthy of a name / personalized plate. Here is my beautiful wife with the honor of affixing her name plate. Get it? We felt it was an appropriate name.
I would also like to point out that just as TPIS said it would be, the engine is as docile as a lamb if you don't put your foot into it. I was concerned that my wife might have trouble driving the car after the engine upgrade, but TPIS assured me she would not. They were spot on. I highly...
It is the now the fastest car I have ever driven. The folks at TPIS have outdone themselves. The sound is equally impressive. The Corsa exhaust is super-agressive when pushed, but still whisper quiet at cruise. No drone at al . It is really hard to believe. I am certain that this ship...
For no other reason than I wanted to, I called Clay at TPIS and had him build me a 383 around the ZZ-9 cam. I don't have it yet, but it was on the dyno last week. It makes 458 lb/ft of torque at 4500rpm and 458 hp at 5900. At 2700 rpm torque is 419 lb/ft and stays above that. What do you...
I just installed Corsa on my 90 and could not be happier. No drone at speed and agressive sound when you want it. The seat of the pants dyno registered an increase also. My car was completely stock.
Hi Guys!
My 1990 had a communications issue between the ECM and the CCM. After going through all the steps in the FSM ie. verifying wiring and grounds, we decided to replace the ECM. The replacement ECM fixed the communications issue, but immediately caused another to pop up with the fuel...
It was a bad ECM this whole time. Ordered a remanufactured ECM and it has cured all the issues. No more SYS. She runs well again. Thanks to all on CAC for your help!
Update July 2015 to SYS
Hello CAC!
I thought it was about time that I updated this thread. Our 90 has 55K miles on her now and has developed some drivability issues. Once we brought her out of storage this spring we quickly discovered that the alternator was not doing it's job and had to...
Okay... I did'nt use the right tools and I did'nt pay enough attention to what I was doing and I caused damage. It's relatively minor, but I am still upset with myself and I ask if anyone knows what I should use to fix this...
I needed to jack up my 90. I placed my 3 ton floor jack under the...
Lots of good info can be found on this site by just using the search feature.

Hope that helps. All I did was type in "C4 Wiper blades".
Thanks for the tips guys! Turned out this was a pretty easy job. Great improvement in ride quality.
One thing that I am watching now is my SRC lamp. Right after finishing the install the SRC was on, but went off after moving the vehicle 100ft or so. Drove the car the rest of the day...
Thanks for the responses guys! I really appreciate it.
The shocks are not banded, but I am wondering if there might be an internal lock on them?
From your responses, I do not need to worry about the actuator/shock setting to install. Once I install them and turn on the key, all will be right...
I've finally gotten my new FX3's from Bilstein and I can not wait to get them on as my car has felt mushy for quite a long time now. I have a couple questions that I would like to ask to those who have done this job already. I do not want to make any mi$$$takes and I dont want any unnecessary...
Does anyone know of any NEW out there for sale? Mine need to be replaced and they are all on back order. Would rather have new, but will have mine rebuilt if I have to.
Hi Guys!
I am contemplating pulling the Billsteins off the 90 and sending them in for a rebuild. The car only has around 45K on it, but they just feel too...umm squishie to me. Following my wife in another vehicle, it looks like the back end bounces too much. Its somewhat difficult to tell...
