I've been looking at outdoor car covers and was wondering if anyone was really happy with their cover and would recoomend one to me. I am not looking to spend a bunch of money, kind of middle of the road cover both in price and quality, if they exist. If I have to, I will buy a real good one, if...
Thank you for any help! I was reading my owners manual and noticed there is a fuse that in is line with a relay that turns off power to a few places which includes the under hood light in the advent a light stays on and after a certain time period cuts out so your battery doesn't drain. I also...
There must be a fuseable link as I run a jumper from the positive lead of the battery to where the positive 12v should be and the light lights. Anyone know where that fuseable link for the engine hood light might be? All other electrical items in the car seem to work fine.
One side question...
Hi,
I am working out some bugs in my C5 I just bought. The light under the hood did not work. The connector that connects the under the hood light was corroded and appeared to have burnt pin, and one was broken. I replaced the connector, put in a new bulb and it still does not work. There is no...
Thanks so much for the help! On another note how come so many cars are missing them? When I was looking at C5's i notice a large number missing them. Any advice when installing the new ones I ordered so they don't fall out?
Thanks everyone! I have wanted to get a C5 since shortly after getting my first Vette the C4 and joining this forum and learning more about the Corvette's. I think the C5 was what I was expecting when I bought my first C4. I was thrilled with my C4 when I first got it but I would say a month or...
Does anyone know the name of those inserts that are always missing from the door handle area and where I can get replacements. I really don't know what they are but many Corvette's I looked at were missing them. I also don't know what purpose they serve, they look like they just might be filler...
Hi Everyone,
Just got my C5 today, 2001 Light Pewter Coupe Auto. Love the car! Looking the car over real good as I usually do when I get a used vehicle and can't really find anything wrong which I am extremely happy about but I do only have it for one day now. Anyone have any suggestions on what...
Never mind, I searched around the forum and found the online owners manual and found it is possible to get odometer read outs in miles or kilometers. Thanks!
So, the odometer is selectable, miles or kilometers? And you are saying when the inspection station mechanic scrolled thru selectable modes he could of selected kilometers instead of miles?
Hi everyone,
I am on a quest to find the "right" C5 as I have sold my C4. Maybe someone can help me here. I am looking at a 1999 with 110,000 miles on it now. I ran a Carfax and the last recorded mileage was sometime last year at 164,000 which would translate to 104,000 miles (if the 164,000 was...
Hi everyone, sold my '93 Automatic Coupe and am now looking for a C5, 1997 thru 1999 years. My question is automatic or 6 speed. What is the consences out there. There are alot more automatics out there than manuals so it's alittle difficult to make a decision. Naturally it won't be my primary...
Hey, I have a question. The carpet on the outside of the drivers side door, (again the carpet outside of the cockpit, not inside) and the bottom of the door weather stripping is wet when it rains hard. I can't seem to determine how it get's wet. Is it the weather stripping that become porous and...
Hi, after posting this I noticed this has been a topic of discussion many times. I just read a numerious posts on this subject and it seems the 6 speed edges out the auto. I know it's pretty much personal opinion and the type of driving your going to do and where you live, but I was looking more...
After reading all the posts from C4 vs C5, I'm looking at buying a C5. My question is what are everyone's thoughts on manual transmission vs the automatic. I feel after having an automatic in my current Vette that I think I should get a 6 speed. Some say automatics are the way to go in the long...
