    A 94 Corvette with Issues

Don't just disconnect the after market alarm wires, remove them! I left one in the driver's door 'cause I just didn't feel like pulling the door panel and about two months later when I hit a bump the hatch would pop open. Also there will be a splice into the main power lead over on the driver's...

    Changing seats

Changed the one in my 90Z out and the standard seat works fine. I just don't like the "sport" seat for long hauls. Sport seat's bottom is to narrow or my bottom is to wide:D

What NASCAR needs to compete with NFL for casual fans

While I admit I quit paying any attention to NASCAR back when they outlawed the Hemi, OHC Ford, Daytona, Superbird, Taledega etc. I have no interest in the soap opera it is today. "Car of tomorrow"? Yep I want one of these Toyotas with the V8, carb & 4spd! Custom chassis, regulated body, same...

Question: Restoring a '78 L82 - paint and interior costs

First be sure to go to a body shop the understands Vettes! The price will depend a lot on how much prep work will be needed as well as how many previous paint jobs the car has had. All surface cracks and crazing must be removed as they will just show up through the new paint. Bottom guess for a...

Question: 1974 Points ignition to HEI

Pertronics units work great. Have them in 4 cars of my own and have put several in for customers. If you go that way be sure to check the distrib. shaft for woble as it is a zero tollerance fit.

    code 42

All I can say is we have had really bad experiances with "rebuilt" ECMs. If you happen to find a really good rebuilder, let me know.

    Question: Brake Rotors

GTR, don't know how old you are but if you have never experianced all the good stuff in the old (50s, 60s, 70s) JC Whittney catalogs you just can't believe how true a statement you just made. If Ya have never seen one, it's worth the laughs to find and read one.

    Brake Bleeding MC

Might as well do it right, M/C, booster, calipers & hoses. If its been sitting that long and ? how long it was empty. The empty side is going to have rust all through it so look at the lines too.

    Brake Bleeding MC

Yep, find the leak first! If you see nothing on the calipers, pull the M/C and look in the power booster.

    code 42

Is the car just throwing the 42 or is it acting up as well? Do you have a digital VOM (volt ohm meter)? If so I can supply you with some volt ranges.

    code 42

White wire to distributor shorted to ground, ECM going bad OR has corrosion on contacts. Clean the contacts with some contact cleaner and check all terminals for burnt/corroded conditions.

Help! Slippage — 6 Spd or Clutch??

If a stick transmission is slipping, it will make noises only a repair shop could love.

    Question: Restore or Replace Radiator

Since it's "just" a nice ride, I wouldn't bother restoring and old radiator. All the radiator shop does is solder your tanks to a new core if you can actually find a real radiator shop anywhere. EPA has drove most out. Just be shure it is matched to the car considering engine and A/C if added.

Earl Shibe's will have that fixed up in no time! :L

Question: Z06 Battery Tender/How To Install For Convenience

Since I haven't been around a C6 much but have other GM vehicles, look under the hood for a jump start terminal. GM likes big ones with red plastic caps. If C6s don't have one, you could tie into the alternator output lead. Any solid close ground will do.

    Help! 1995 LT1 overheats

When you had the cooling system open and then refilled the coolant did you open the air purge? May have air trapped in the system.

    Need some opinions please

85 mph speedo was mandated by your friendly Federal Government back in the bad old 55 days. If you couldn't see how fast you were going, why speed. Didn't work and the law was dropped.
