    Question: Rough Starting - 1996 LT1

Car starts great cold or if it's been off less than an hour. In a warm state it sputters, cranks rough or not at all (like it's flooded). If it cranks rough, I can generally get it going by revving the engine a bit before driving off to warm it back up. Is this a fuel sensor or something?

A C Only blows on Defrost mode

Way up under the dash. Have to be a monkey to get to it. I hired this one out.

A C Only blows on Defrost mode

Probably the nipples collapsed where the vacuum hoses connect to the AC controller. Common on the 96. This controls the vents.

    96 Squeaky AC Dash Vent

The AC vent on the passenger dash squeaks and is driving me crazy. Anyone know how to remove this so I can get to the source of the problem?

    Supply & Demand

I don't see where this is a problem. They have a backlog of orders and a certain manufacturing capacity. You price where it maximizes the profit. Has no one had Eco 101?

    Rush

Do you still get a rush when you take your vette out for a spin? I sure do. When I quit getting a rush on my motorcycle I sold it!

    Order lead time

I PMed Chevy customer service regarding lead time on placing an order for a new C7 and she said 10-14 days. Didn't sound right so I questioned her on this and got no response. I thought it would be a couple months at least. Any comments?

    Dilemma

Interesting that I've driven my Corvette every day the last week except Tuesday (rain) and I've only seen maybe 2 others. Where are all the vettes?????

    Dilemma

I freaking love my C4, which is funny considering it was my least favorite model before I bought it. It's bad a$$ with the 383 stroker and sounds incredible with the Flowmaster exhaust. Dang near perfect condition since I restored it - Haywood Automotive did a fantastic job. My problem is I...

Help! Best approach to talking my Mother into this...

My overriding consideration would be the cost of insurance. Regardless of your logic, ANY Corvette would be expensive to insure until you are in your mid 20s. Skip the vanity, save your money and get something boring until you're out of school and have a job/career.

More pics. Haywood did way more than I expected. Even painted the frame and under body.

    1996 CE Restoration

Maxed out on my pics so here are a few more: Under body was painted too and I'll post those when I get them from Haywood. This car features a cross brace for added stability and that was painted as well. Hope these pics come through well because Haywood did an incredible job and I hope the...

    1996 CE Restoration

Pics of the finished project. Engine cleaned up and painted more like an LT4: The only thing I really added here was the SLP claw, mainly because the original intake was dented by hood misalignment and it looked bad. New OEM tires (Goodyear) and replaced the rim with road rash...

    1996 CE Restoration

Just finished spiffing up a 1996 CE I bought a year ago - Haywood's Automotive actually did the work (certainly not me). The car had 71k miles on it when I got it and Tony's Corvette had done an engine rebuild around 67k miles with a 383 stroker. Dyno showed 396 HP at the time. I have all the...
