Does anyone know how to contact Vettefinderjim? I have tried email and private mail, and it's been about a week and no response, any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bobmanx
Paul79 and JohnZ,
If you guys bless it, then I'll take it as gospel! Thanks for the quick answers on both the gasket and the filter. I will use the filter on another car (not a Corvette) that is just in need of such a item.
Thanks!
Bob
Holley Carb. Mounting Gasket info needed for a 67 Corvette
First off, thanks for all the previous help with my 67 convertible, everyone has been great and supportive.
My question this time is about the Holley 3810 4 barrel mounting gasket, where it mounts to the intake manifold. Its a 327/350...
JohnZ,
That adapter (in the pics that JohnZ was kind enough to post for me) does not have a internal bypass valve, It eliminates the bypass valve. During the install you have to remove the bypass valve then install the gasket and the adapter, and then bolt it in place. The bypass valve is no...
John,
I sent it to the email address that you had listed in the above post. aol must have buried it as the size was a bit large due to the pics. I will resend it with them as attachments.
Thanks for the help and the learning! LOL
Bob
JohnZ and others,
JohnZ I sent the "LIC Spin on Filter Adapter" pics to you. Just to let you know that I purchased a real AC Delco Filter adapter on Sat. It appears to be a carbon copy to the one that CJackster posted earlier and it does work with the "original" Bypass Valve.
Thanks again to...
Everyone Thanks for the help. I purchased the "adapter kit" from Long Island Corvette, no instructions, junk grade bolts and a couple of gaskets. Its different from the Mr. Gasket adapter shown above. (Pics are coming) From what I'm beginning to understand is, this just bolts to the filter...
Wayne,
Thanks for the clarification. I purchased it from LIC ( Long Island Corvettes) as a complete kit, so I just wanted to make sure that it was all there. Sorry for the questions, first time Corvette owner, and I dont want it damaged!
Bob
JohnZ,
The adapter came WITHOUT the Aluminum Bypass Valve, Bolts are only 1/4-20 by 1-1/4' junk grade hex head bolts, and a paper style gasket with a large square cut Rubber Ring. No instructions NADA, ZILCH, Nothing else, and attach using 50 INCH-POUNDS only?
Thanks for the filter info...
Wayne,
Thanks for the filter and install info, it looked simple enough, just going to remove the flashing and molding excess prior to installation. Shouldnt there be lock washers on the mounting bolts, I will ask some more questions when I talk to LIC tomorrow AM. Its too late to play this...
"Spin on Oil Filter Adapter and Filter" Question for the 67
I purchased a "Spin On Oil Filter Adapter" and "Spin on Filter" from LIC, Adapter arrived and the filter did not. What "Spin On Filter" (Brand and Filter Number) works correctly with the adapter (other than the one in the catalog...
IH2LOSE & JohnZ,
Thanks for the info. and the Rebuild Contacts. I will contact them and see when and how to get both carbs to a recommended source for the necessary repairs ASAP.
JohnZ,
I can see the #984 being August of 69, but how does the lower number work out to April of 76? Something to...
Please see the previous thread for original post, Thanks.

I finally got to look at the Holley Carb. today for 15 minutes. There is a number on the carb, facing the front on the driver's side at the top. The number is ...
carrollm, My Prozac, and everyone,
I will pull it apart and get new parts to replace the float, needle and seat, after getting the holley P/N off the carb. The tank is new and knock on metal the lines are new, another check. Is there a fuel filter other than at the inlet to the carb, hidden...
Mike, Pete and everyone,
Thanks for the responses, I think that replacement of the needle/seat and float is well worth the safety factor. In less than a minute there was gas dripping down on the garage floor, and one small spark could have ended the life of the Corvette, myself and others in...
Thanks everyone.
I was hoping that it was something simple to fix, since my limited Corvette knowledge is growing slowly. I was parusing the factory workshop manuals and trying to become more familiar with whats involved to pull it a part. And yes I could see where it could have been very...
Sunday I got a chance to take the Corvette out try to run some gas through it, but it was not to be. It had not been run since Thanksgiving. Sitting in the garage and tried to start it (67-327/350hp stock with AC) and it caught and fired and sort of just died. Tried to restart and it acted like...
Where in Los Angeles, I had some parts done in the city of Orange, in Orange County Calif. The name of the place was "Orange County Plating". They re-chromed some parts for a non-Corvette car that I'am restoring. The parts came out fantastic and have retained that new chrome look for at least 4...
