    Fuel gauge issue

Well, I just had the dealer replace the passengers side fuel sending unit on my 2000. It would frequently send my gauge to empty and set off all kind of warnings. I could reset it and it would work for a while. During this time of trouble, the gas gauge would never go to the full mark when I...

    A little brake help please

Well, sort of; like i said before, I purchased original GM brand rotors. I also purchased a run out gauge and a magnetic base to hold it. I started with the drivers side and the movement was + - .002. I figured that with the quality rotors they were "true" out of the box. I put the other one...

Quick description of what I did: My 1975 Corvette front calipers were leaking so, replaced both front calipers, with new pads and new GM rotors. Installed new master cylinder. I bled the system and was satisfied with the braking function. Took the car on three local outings over about a 3 week...

    Question: gummy steering wheel

Need a little advise :) The steering wheel on my 75 convertible is getting worse. I don't drive it a lot and it stays covered but the problem is that there is a sticky feeling to the steering wheel and it gets black stuff all over my hands. It seems worse when it is hot and humid (which is...

    GM Part # needed

Thanks "smartass" no harm done. I think my skin is a little thin from too much time on forums. Between this one and TundraTalk it seems someone is "spanking" me every time I post. I have found that there are a very small group of guys, I call forum bullies, who get a little too carried away...

    GM Part # needed

Haven't given up yet. Yes I do have active handling and traction control. I sent the EBCM to MYAIRBAGS.COM and they checked it and said that they were able to repair some issues but when rechecked it showed some problem on the circuit board and they did not work on those. They refunded my $79...

    GM Part # needed

Can anybody give me the GM part number for the EBCM below? Delphi/Delco -ABS-5-TCS-AH Model# 09360921 The local dealer advised that the part has been purged from their computer and could supply. I think I may have tracked down a company that has a rebuilt one for a reasonable price but he...

    Help! A.I.R. smog pump

I changed the vacuum valve on the side if the air pump as well as the EGR vacuum solinoid which is on the pass. side in the fender behind the front wheel. Was hard to find. It is up high and you can't see the solinoid only the bolt holding it. Reset all and so far no new code and passed inspection.

    Help! A.I.R. smog pump

Go figure I know, it seems to be a common code and lots of people post having the problem. Now I need to figure out how to get to the EGR vacuum solenoid. I am told that it is behind the pass. side front tire. Behind the wheel well liner somewhere. I guess I will do the same thing, just...

    Help! A.I.R. smog pump

I brought my 2000 convertible to my mechanic (dealer mechanic that does work on the side) and he found that I need to change the A.I.R. smog air pump. He wanted $400 labor to do the job but that sounds like a lot. He says that the unit is located under the headlight on the drivers side. I...

    Gremlin in C5 drivers door

I know someone on here has an answer to this problem. My 2000 convertible has some very strange gremlins living in the drivers door. I have often suspected a short somewhere since I get so many intermittent warning lights and system problems. I think I have narrowed it down to the drivers...

    Mirror lights won't go out

well, i know that the drivers side is not working properly and nothing else has worked. I hate to pay someone to pull it all apart and have something else in the system go bad. I thought about just trying the re-index on the one i have but don't think my back will let me do the labor myself.

    Mirror lights won't go out

looking for parts While doing some of my research on the AC issue, I read somewhere that someone on this site was giving a good price on the HVAC control head and the accuators. I have found someone who will change them for $200 labor. He said he would pull the dash to do them so I figured...

    Mirror lights won't go out

Another gremlin. Went outside to get the 2000 ready for a early morning ride on an unusually cool Aug. morning in Louisiana. Opened the drivers door and reached in to push the buttom to pop the rear hatch. Nothing............... looked inside and noticed that there were no lights on inside...

I would like to first thank all the people that tried to help and you are all a great bunch of folks. I believe that I have reached the point where owning this C5 is no longer fun. The electrical gremlins have gotten the best of me and now that I have retired, I don't have the money to keep...
