01 Z06 Driver's seat

My driver's seat has turned into a rocker. I'm not a huge guy, but it seems that on acceleration and deceleration the seat rocks back and forth. Not a lot, but enough to be annoying. The seat also has a broken plastic surround at the bottom allowing the left side seat bolster to sag. I suspect I am at fault for that because I sit on that bolster while detailing the interior.

My question is - does anyone have a source for a black (no red insert) Z06 seat. Or, failing that, does anyone know of a third party seat that would fit on the original frame. I want to retain the memory seat capability, but I'm not hung up on staying 100% original if there were a really nice looking, comfortable and supportive seat out there - something like a Recaro or Sparco or equivalent.

I believe there was a GM service bulletin for the seat. Check with your dealer. Sorry, but I don't know the service #.

Seems to be a common problem. Mine still does it. I thought I saw a fix-it post somewhere on this forum. But could have been another forum. Maybe someone here has done this DIY fix and will chime in.

Great write up. My drivers side seat with only 12k miles is already exhibiting signs of the dreaded rock.
