04 ZO6 Brakes

I have about 25,000 miles on my 04 ZO6 and I really hate the black brake dust that builds up on the front wheels.

Does anyone have a suggestion on the type of pads that I should buy when it's time that will eliminate this irratating problem????

Hi there,
You will find that 01 ZO6 pads will produce much less dust than the 02-04 design.

Do you mean the ones from Chevy?? I was wondering if aftermarket ones would be better.

Hi there,
01 ZO6 brake pads are more expensive than aftermarket, but the balance between dust, performance wet and dry, and noise, is excellent.
Better than any aftermarket pad.

Go on the 'other forums', everyone with brake dust concerns has changed them out to ceramic. I was going that route too. but changed out my brakes completly!

If you put the base C5 front brake pad on you will have less dust, however, you'll also give-up the heavy-duty braking ability that comes with the more aggressive pads.

That said, those usually having great concern about brake dust are not often driving their cars hard, so the lesser performing brake pad is usually not an issue.
