I continue to work on my father's '56. Replaced the brake and fuel lines. While working on the fuel line, I noticed some leather straps in the soft top compartment (on both sides behind the seats).
The straps are about 3/4" wide and have a buckle. They are attached to the fiberglass with phillips head screws. Not sure what these straps are used for perhaps to hold down the top mechanism when the top is down. Does anyone know if replacement straps are available and if so where could I get them (mine are rather dried out and stiff). Thanks.
