I have a '58 silver-blue with red interior. This color combination does not show up in the books I have. According to Nolan Adams, the assembly line wrote the name of the exterior color in the trunk behind the vertical cardboard behind the seats. Mine shows "blue" written by hand. Since there was no other blue available in '58, I assume this is the silver-blue.
As for the interior, we can not find any evidence of another color either by overspray or material color. The interior was redone about 10 years ago, and the photos taken during the replacement show only the red color throughout. I don't know of anyway to otherwise verify the interior color.
Anybody have any thoughts on the originality of this color combination?

Although the red interior wasn't listed in the charts as an available or recommended combination, the dealer could override that on the order form and order it anyway. From an NCRS judging perspective, it could be pretty shaky to convince a judge that it's a legitimate combination without having the original order form showing the override. The burden of proof for documentation is always on the owner when a non-standard situation is encountered that's not typical of factory production.
