yup i know what you mean...and the people in the C5 section are boring and dull because i have only gotten a handful of responses....

Well you just cannot attempt to help some people. I do not see any comments which are derogatory towards you and all I posted was an example to help with your paper. Not brag but fact, look at my signature. I have written a few papers and could probably teach your class. So I offered a suggestion and receive some typical stereotypical response back. Maybe you need to take a long hard look into a mirror and find out where the real issue(s) lie.

Just another "boring and dull" C5 owner.

Good job Corvette Girl! Somehow you managed to get some C5 owners into a spirited exchange. I hope you see a bright future when you look into that mirror.

(Would someone please let me know what the term "Pseudomind" means? Being a pseudointellectual I just can't figure it out).

I should have read more into the post before I just answered with my preference. I do agree that is not a question that could be answered without a comparison of both cars in stock trim.

Well that's a pretty good line,

I suppose with the changes and strives being made today with artificial intelligence, the two could exist hand-in-hand.

"A pseudomind that's pseudointellectual" Or visa-versa.

so what do you know about the C3 and/or the C5 'vette???

Well from this link, http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Specifications-c436-1972-Corvette-Specifications.html

350ci 255hp Engine
454ci 270hp Engine
Special Purpose LT1 Engine Package

and note they adopted a new method of measuring horsepower,

A 454 ci big block motor was standard, and rated at 270 horsepower. While this may appear to be a large drop from the 365-horsepower rating of 1971, it actually was not: horsepower became measured for constancy rather than peak performance.

http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Overview-c436-1972-Corvette-Overview.html

Here are the 1971 figures

Engine
350ci 330hp Engine
Special Purpose LT1 Engine Package
454ci 425hp Engine
Special Purpose LS6 Engine Package
454ci 365hp Engine

So now a 1972 owner needs to chime in. I have no idea if the 1971 was basically the same as the 1972, but just rated differently.

Since everyone has already answered, I'm sure my opinion is probably unnecessary. If you're comparing a '72 to an '02 I think clearly you need to consider technological advances. The '02 will be an all around nicer car when considering the technology. The interior will be nicer, the engine more reliable, efficient, etc. So really the question is one of aesthetic preference. Personally, I think that after the '82 model (since any 83's were 82's) the corvettes look declined. So appearance wise, i think all of the C3s and earlier were much more beautiful cars. When the rear bumber was rounded from the first C4's I thought chevy might be moving in the right direction, but frankly, I think the 2002 and other C5s were a bad move. I did not like the design at all, especially from the rear. That said, the new vette is a gorgeous car. And I think here in the NY there are quite a few of them on the road, which is a testament to its beautiful design. So that said, one must really like the classic look of the '72 over the technology of the '02.

I note that this is an opinion only and surely there will be plenty of people who disagree. I recognize this so please use discretion with responses.

thank you for your opinion....i will take it into consideration.....i am working on the actual paper now.....i have lots of info thanks to all ou guys here....hopefully i can pull this off because im not that great at putting words onto paper and making it sound good and flow good....i'll keep everyone updated on how the paper is going....

You might want to read a bit about this guy for your paper. His history may explain the less than exciting looks of the newer Corvette.

Zora Duntov was on the job when the C3 was created, the look of the Corvette was absolutely outrageous during his watch. The C3 is loaded with goodies that he pushed through GM. We can only hope we have Corvettes sometime in the future that are as wild looking as the cars that were created in his day.

Vettes, yes. With souls, like the Zora cars - ? ? ? ?

Ah-the $64,000 question! I won't say they don't have souls, but they are not the same, now are they?

I believe Bob (67 Heaven) nailed it when he said "Lifestyles vs. Transportation"...;)

My 2%...
