I have a 77 L82 and when I turn on the headlights the one on the left side comes up first then about 30 seconds the one on the right comes up. The lights do the same thing when I turn them off. Also during the day when I don't have my lights on if I accelerate fast the Left light will come up and then go back down. Is this normal? If not how can this be fixed? ;) :confused

Vacuum issue! The headlights are powered by vacuum. You could have a leak. Also, lube up the mechanical parts to help.

Do a search for vacuum & headlights. You should find lots of information.

Also check out www.corvettec3.com Its a '77 vette haven!

Thanks For the information I'll have to take a look at that.

If you doors on the lights open or close by themselves, the check valve isn't working properly.on hard accelleration the vaccum in the carb is near zero therefore there is nothing to keep the doors closed. the check valve should keep air in the tank so this cant happen.
