Can anyone tell me if (58cc) heads, casting number 14014416 will have any issues with the bolt on accessories on a 1978? I don't want to waste any more time and effort on my old set. I included the history from another forum. Basically my heads are bad casting numbers and not worth rebuilding.
Thanks Jafo
Stingray6974 The head casting number is on the top of the head under the valve cover. 624 will be the last 3 digits. And yes those heads will crack if you stare at them too hard.

1978L48jafo Hey all
I am in the middle of an engine rebuild and I am following a manual from northern called "How to build the Small Block Chevrolet" I am porting and polishing the head with the kit that's available and I notice a warning in the book about casting number 624 or 462624. The book recommends scrapping and not wasting money on rebuilding because this particular casting is prone to cracking. figure the odds!! can any of you confirm this???
