Classic Corvette crashes on Hwy 401 in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO, CANADA — Injuries were minor after a classic 1981 Chevrolet Corvette lost control and crashed on Highway 401 in Cambridge Thursday morning.

“I think he was hit by a truck and spun out and almost flipped,” said witness Jennifer Bedford of Kitchener.

She was driving eastbound in the left lane between Franklin Boulevard and Townline Road about 9:30 a.m. She saw the Corvette careening across the right lanes beside her.

The Corvette stopped in the middle of the highway on its wheels. Bedford pulled over and checked on the driver as traffic stopped and backed up behind the wreck.
