Hi, I am not sure if my 81 has the following options;RPOFE7-Gymkhana suspension,
RPOF51 HD Shocks
RPO G92 Perform. Axle Ratio
I have all the other options for that year including RPO QXH P255/60R15
Steel Belted Radials. I hope someone can tell me how I can find out.
Thanks, rollsman

rollsman,

If your car came with the FE option you should have a stablizer bar that runs from the top of frame that the rear leaf spring mount. There are two small bolts that secure it to the top of the framework. Also count the number of Leaf's in your rear spring, if there are a total of 7 you most likely have the FE option. Non FE 4-speed cars came with a 9 leaf spring and almost all the automatics came with the new mono-spring.

The performance axle: mark the main propeller shaft (drive shaft) rotate it one complete turn and count the number of revolutions of the tires ;) then check the ratio against the spec pages either here at CAC or at the Registry.

last thoughts :eek if you can find the build sheet that would have the information too. A lot of folks have found their build sheet on top of the gas tank, IF your's is a Bowling Green Built, then send away for your window sticker ;)

Thank you rare 81. I appreciate the quick response. I believe my car was made in St. Louis. According to the vin # 1G1AY8760BS427667 it was St L. I have auto transmission. I will check the items you suggested. If you can suggest one more thing: What is the best stuff to use on my weatherstripping to preserve it from cracking and drying up? Thanks again, Rolllsman.
In the battery compartment there is the foll: KZ 866244 What does this stand for?
Sorry for all the questions.

Hi Rare 81, I forgot to ask you when do you think I can have a photo of my car on the 81 registry? I know you told me in 2004. Thanks, rollsman

I use a dielectric grease I get from work. It's a silicone base jell that is used to on rubber gasgets on transformers. I think you can find the same stuff at any electrical supplier, or maybe even auto parts house. Just ask for Dielectric grease/jell ;)

"KZ 866244" in the battery compartment :confused I'll take a look later at Rare's battery compartment... and look through some of my literature on our 1981's.. for some reason I think it is the part number of the Computer.. but don't quote me just yet ;)

Bud, thank you for your help. I am trying to find out as much as I can with my car.
