Hello All
Been working on crossfire off and on for about 2 weeks now.
One thing I can tell you is what is not wrong.
Which is simply everything I did so far.
Now I do believe my TBI's need rebuilding, but it was running and all of a sudden it ran like crap. I only had the car a few weeks and it started after I gassed it up. But sicne then I put dry gas injector cleaner and octane boost and more fuel.
What I would like to know is,now when I start it cold it starts right up.
Than as it idles it surges badly util it is very warm, then it idles like a normal car. But try and drive it and it won't take the gas.Have to pump it a little ,let off pump a little again and nurse it around the block.
Now to my question,it is warmed up now,and it does this everytime. It will not start,I can see gas going it but it won;t start hot,Unless I squirt a little starting fluid into the injectors, then it fires right away and keeps running. What is that???? Can anyone please tell me?
Thanks,Jim

Ok, it sounds like you haven't done much...is this what you've done so far for this issue? "put dry gas injector cleaner and octane boost and more fuel."

So, I guess we have to start with the basics, do you have a CEL? If so, what codes are set? Need way more info than what you have posted to make a suggestion. :upthumbs But, while we're waiting... look at charts #7,#8 and #11 in the GM manual.

I would check the fuel pressure and change the fuel filter before I tried anything else. Good luck.

Sorry
I thought working on it off and on for 2 weeks covered it.
No cel lights. Did not find anything wrong on the chart titled will not start hot. But I changed the fuel filter, didn;t see any vacuum leaks.
The car has new spark plugs wires dist cap hei esc.
I was asking one question, does anyone know what could cause the condition I explained, especially the not starting hot!!!!!
When spraying starting fluid starts right away, and also when I am trying to start it hot I can see fule going into the throttle bodies,is that ok now?

Hello
Does anyone have any ideas or should I just stop looking for an answer.
I have perform mkany tests and this has me stumped.I am not a mechanic but I do know things about a car and I do have documentation, although I do not have some test equipment which is mainly why I am looking fo an answer.I believe most people are not mechanics and that is why they are here.
Thank You, Jim

"working on and off on it for 2 weeks" does not say anything. The only detailed corrective action you described was the injector cleaner/octane boost...that's why Bucaneer posted what he did.

Just "seeing" fuel spray into the injectors is not good enough...it could be too much fuel, could be not enough fuel...you can't quantify amount of fuel being injected by just looking at the spray (although visually analyzing the spray pattern itself is useful). Fuel pressure needs to be checked when things are warmed up to operating temp (since that is the failure condition). Could be that the pump is crapping out after running for a while.

Thanks Geekinavette that is all I am looking for just some logical fixes that someone may have come across before,I don't want someone to trbl shoot for me,just an answer if you had a similiar problem.
Jim
