Driver Arrested after Running Red Light, Killing Ewa Beach Man

Kapolei, HI - The crash happened around 1:30am Saturday at the intersection near Kapolei High School.

"Ft. Barret and Kapolei parkway, two vehicles got into collision in the intersection," said Lt. Darren Izumo, Honolulu Police Department.

Police say the driver of this gold 1985 corvette was turning left onto Ft. Barret road and had the right of way when he was broadsided.

"The vehicle heading west on Kapolei parkway, on a green signal, was struck by a vehicle northbound on Ft. Barret Road," said Lt. Izumo.

They had to have been hauling serious butt to mess up the Vette like they did. Then again it was an SUV, didnt say what kind, I'm guessing a large Tahoe like one. Stupid idiots, hope they rot in jail...for a long time. What a waste of human life and a perfectly good car. Just stupid, please don't drink and drive its plain idiotic. May the driver, rest in peace, and go on nice long cruises with Jesus.

Poor guy never saw it coming, maybe that is a good thing. The SUV had to be hauling. Have there ever been public crash test records for C4's, or any other generation corvette?
