Does anyone know of a nice header that tucks up nicely under the car and will work with angle plug heads?

Ditto ... Wish my heads were angle plugs.
Ditto backatcha Mike; sometimes I wish I would have stuck with my original plan. ;)

I have AFR heads with the L98 plug angle and the coated TPIS LT headers fit is good. Only thing required is to install the ceramic boots on two plug wires because they are real close and will burn the rubber boot under hard driving but the ceramic boots worked for me.
Some use hooker headers and beat dents in them to get plug clearence but I bought headers because I wanted better exhaust flow be a cold day in hell when I smash the header tubes to make them fit. The TPIS cost more but they are designed to fit your car not a one size fits all type of header.
The cheaper ones are tempting but there is a saying that one should always remember
( IF YOU WANT NICE CLEAN FRESH OATS THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY A FAIR PRICE BUT IF YOU CAN BE SATISFIED WITH THEM AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE HORSE THEN IT WILL BE A LITTLE CHEAPER )

nice saying. Do you have any personal experience with the cheaper ones?

I have never personally bought the cheap headers but have watched several friends that did. The hedman is always leaking won't hold the gasket. Another friend bought Doug Thorley and we moddified the hell out of them to make them fit but he has a gasket leaking now with only 3000 miles. Another friend bought a set of tri-Y headers for a camaro but you could not put them on because the collector hit the floor they were way off he sent them back. Any header with a flange of less then 3/8 will not hold a gasket. Do your home work before buying headers.
Good Luck with your decision.

actually, I own a set of cheapies and have no leaking problems at all.

IMHO people who have problems are the ones who use cheap gaskets or they don't bother to re torque their header bolts after the first cool down cycle. I've found that more often than not the fault lies with the install rather than the headers

I have Dart Pro1 aluminum heads (straight plugs) and finally fixed the burning boots with ceramic boots, that came with the MagnaCore wire set. It did not require my driving hard to burn them rather quickly.

TPIS recommended dimpling #7 tube for clearance. I was not impressed and it did NOT solve the burning; neither did ThermoTec wrap.

This is a closer view, but the dimpling is not too obvious.

I don't mean to knock anyone's products. If money wasn't an issue I'd probably buy the expensive stuff.

Then again if money wasn't an issue I'd be in a Ferrari forum right now laughing at Vette's and Vipers ;)

Nothing wrong with trying to save money but just remember nothing is built that someone can't build cheaper. Those who consider price alone are that mans prey.
Glad you are happy with your low cost headers your experience with them is different than many who have used them. I have a set of headers that I put on in 1977 and I still own the vehicle and the headers are still on it and still look like they will last for many more years. I don't drive it much but one could say they have lasted very well. My TPIS headers on my vette are starting on year 6 still look very good and never have had the bolts tightened since installed

I know a couple of Vettes that would be laughing at you in that Ferrari.

I don't know about laughing at his ferrari but I have a vette that will open a BIG can of WHIP AZZ on his ferrari.

-just an offhand remark. I'd still own a vette or two ;)

Kinda like what I meant. Yo, fast-guy....we're funnin ya, eh?

BTW, I editted above, posting some pics of the tight quarters at my #7 plug. They show the ceramic boot.

thanks, I wasn't sure if I rustled some feathers.

It would be nice if money wasn't an object. Id have at least two "normal" daily driver Vettes and a couple of "sleeper" vettes (something that looks stock but eats Vipers :D)

or just pay LPE an obscene amount of money to make a ZR1 eat anything!
