Hi all. I have an early 86 Z51 and the speedometer quit working after a transmission flush. The car had not been driven but about once a year the last 13 years.

I checked all the connections on the instrument cluster and all is good there.

I ordered a new speed sensor but what showed up is magnetic. Come to find out I have the gear driven electronic speed sensor.

I replaced the driven gear and the speedo worked intermittently. So, I’m thinking the drive gear needs to be replaced as well.

I am curious if any of you have ever converted from the gear driven electronic sensor to the magnetic? If so, what drive gear would I use and how would I match it to my gear/tire ratio?

I just figure if I gave to pull the back off the transmission I would rather convert the drive gear to something that will work with the magnetic sensor.

Thanks in advance for any help.
