1986 GM Restoration Part Fuel Sender

I am replacing my fuel sender assembly because it has somewhat corroded I suspect from the 10% alcohol in all the fuel now. My question is that the old original sender assembly had a pulsator mounted between the pump and the sender assembly to the fuel outlet. The GM restoration part comes fully assembled with a new pump and does not have a pulsator installed. Is the pulsator necessary any longer?
