Saw this auction and thought it would possibly be of help, for an 87 owner... opening bid $1999.

enjoy :m

Boy that sure is tempting. I am very worried about the seller with 0 feedback. How do we verify his integrity or the integrity of the parts???

Any ideas on the price the turbos would cost at Callaway? I'm leaking oil from one and am considering fixing it. Replacing would be better. Also, are the turbos "unidirectional", meaning one for the left and one for the right?

TIA

I'm not sure the turbo's are different from left to right. But I'm sure the exhaust manifolds are worth every penny of 2000.00! IF you ever need to replace them they are approx 5000.00 to reproduce in stainless steel at Callaway Cars. If I didn't already have a spare set of manifolds I would be jumping on it. The IHI turbo's are readily available and repair kits are commonplace. Enjoy. -Joe

Any ideas on what the turbos alone are worth?

Holy crap! Why are they so expensive? They look like generic, restrictive exhaust manifolds. What kind of headers do you guys use? I know aftermarket headers for a ZR-1 are outrageous.......I can only imagine the Callaway aftermarket headers.

I took a chance and bid on them and won. Now...for all you ebay guys, what can I do to protect myself? Can I insist on an escrow service or is there another way to ensure the goods are as advertised prior to release of funds? TIA.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I was looking at the auction too but really have no need for this stuff. I think I had determined through another auction the seller had active that he is a business and not a private seller. You should be able to pay with your credit card according to the payment options. If you do not get the parts or they are not as advertised you can dispute the charge.

I'd be worried about the 0 feedback too.

Good score :) Glad someone here got them :m
I would pay by credit card and if not as promised, dispute the charges. Now in fairness to the seller, I hope they have zero feedback due to other variables...
Let us know how this works out for you :)

Will do. Thanks for posting. I don't really need these parts except for maybe 1 turbo but I couldn't let them get away from me for that price.
