1987 targa top replacement

can I replace my 87' targa with a 95'. I ve found one for sale in my area and didnt know if they were the same.

I'm pretty sure you can. There were two variations on the front mounts for the top but I believe it was '86. Some one that knows for sure will chime in shortly.

I think :ugh The targa size is the same, the corner hardware is different.

You will need adapter brackets for it to fit. There are 3 different tops, 84-86E, 86L-88, 89-96.

So no, you cant just stick it on there.

I will take from the replies that the actual targa top will fit if the attach points are changed, has anybody done this...how much are the parts to retrofit a newer targa top...say a early 90's targa?
