1990 6-Speed

For a 1990 Vette with a 6-Speed and the 3:07:1 axle ratio can someone tell me what speeds you change into the other gears? Thanks

I use RPM and type of driving as a guide. The car won't pull too well below 17-1800 RPM, so I shift from the lower gear to stay above that. Then again, for rush hour, who needs and 'pull'.For more spirited driving, I stay in the power band, shifting above 5500RPM (this engine pulls well to over 6k) but the L98 loses torque above the high 4s.

From my reading, I'd say 1-4. The 3.07 is rather an economy ratio, IMHO.

I hope the "yet" implies a pending entry into the Corvette Fun Zone for you.

The 3.07 option for the 1990 gives it 5 more horses. I'm only 18 so in a year or two i'll buy one.

I thought all 6-speed cars came with the 3.45 ratio and the 3.07 is only for the automatic. What am I missing here?

Tech Center

If you go to the Tech Center and look for specs on '90 Vette, they list the rear axle ratio @ 3:33:1 for 6spds.

Dependent on the options on the car they list axle ratios for the different RPO codes, so check the build sheet for the car to be sure.

GT7 = 3.33
G44 = 3.07
GM1 = 2.59
