I just took my 1990 coupe (with 16K original miles on it) out of storage and for the first time in all the years I've had it (I bought it new) the clutch would not disengage initially. Scared the hek out of me when it lurched forward as I started it, even though I had the clutch pedal all the way to the floor! Eventually, it has gotten to the point where I can get it to engage and disengage, but all the engagement occurs in the first inch or so of travel, it seems. It's real grabby, not like when I stored it last fall as far as engagement and pedal feel. The first half of of the pedal travel (depressing direction) has almost no feeling of resistance to it. It is still a bit of an effort to get it to go into a gear , particularly reverse. Anybody ever experienced something similar? Is this a potential problem with winter storage?

start by checking the fluid in the master cylinder.they use a hydralic system to active the clutch.either master or slave could be leaking .

When you have a chance visit: http://zfdoc.com/

Make sure you read all the threads here on the slave cylinder and the incorrectly installed seals.

You just might need to bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Even this simple operation is a bit tricky!
