Saw this one and thought I would pass along the info in case anyone was in the market - It is a 1990 B2K and the license plate says it all :upthumbs

Callaway Twin Turbo link: :m :v

I like it! A very nice looking example. It would make a nice addition to a forum members stable! Has anyone seen this one advertised other than ebay, I'm curious to know the price range of the seller.

This one was listed a few times on eBay in the past year or so that I saw. It was around $30k back then. I remember the Callaway logo on the windshield.

The seller was not too responsive the one time I tried to contact them, but I may have to see about going down on a weekend to check it out... :)

Aurora, depending on the price, it may be the right one for you - all pics I have ever seen of that Callaway really shined!

Please let any of us know if we can help you get into that Callaway :v :m

Eric, if it helps, I got an offer that met my terms on my Trans Am that I was considering selling - if it goes, that is one less of the cars you liked on the market ;)

Maybe when the weather breaks, I'll take you for a spin in the B2K - you'll be hooked!!!!!!! :beer

I'll have to reply like I did earlier in this thread:

HUBBA HUBBA!!!! :J

Looks like it met reserve for $28,000. Funny the guy had it up a few times with an initial bid price of $30k and it never got any bids. List it again with a reserve and no high initial bid, and it gets to within $2k of his price... And it looks like the buyer just had to have it as he bid it up a bit to meet reserve.

So Aurora, when do you take delivery :confused :D ;)

1990 Callaway # 36 Is Heading For California

Hey Everyone,

I am the person that purchased # 36 on the EBay Auction this week

It did in fact sell for $28K (reserve) which to me seemed like a fair deal based upon the mileage / condition / options / and rariety of the car

I sold my Buick GNX (#485) last week ($41.5K) so I went from a single turbo Buick collectable to a twin turbo Corvette collectable

Over the past 2 years I have bought / sold an 87 Buick Grand National (T-Top Car), a 91 GMC Syclone (Turbo S-10), a 92 GMC Typhoon (Turbo Jimmy), a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, and lastly a Buick GNX (#485)

I guess that you can say that I like Turbo vehicles, and since this is my 1st Corvete, I am really looking forward to seeing what a Callaway is all about

My Wife & I are flying out to Hickory NC next friday (3/4/05) to pick up / finish paying for the car, and shortly after that we will be pointing her westward and having a blast learning all her secrets

This should be a good opportunity for #36 to stretch her legs a bit and get used to being driven again

I sure wish that I could have found the car I wanted in Los Angeles or someplace closer (Ha!), but by driving Coast to Coast, I'll really get a feel for the car, how finiky she is, and how she is set up for both freeway cruising and posterior cushioning

These are the kind of trips that lifelong memories are made of

So if anyone see's a Black Callaway Corvette broken down or on fire alongside the 40 Fwy westbound, with a 48 year old white boy from California jumping up and down cussing his a$$ off, stop and give a brother a hand.....lol

I'm looking forward to getting to know the various board members, and I'm sure to have plenty of questions about the new addition to the family

Take Care,

Ray, congrats on buying your first Corvette - a B2K Twin Turbo at that :eek

I think you will be impressed, I certainly was, and I too had an 87 GN :D

Turbo Luigi here still has one of the two GNX's he has had - I think he prefers the Callaway more :upthumbs

Enjoy your 3500 mile x-country drive - it should be a ton of fun!!!!!!

If you have a chance, Last time I drove on 40, I stopped by a neat car museum called Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car museum located in Sevierville, Tennessee in the Great SMokey Mountains :cool http://www.musclecarmuseum.com
I believe they rotate the cars and there were about 50 top notch classics there when I went through...

Welcome to the :CAC Callaway Forum - we look forward to hearing more about the experience :m

Ray,

Congratulations on your Callaway purchase and welcome to the "Official" Callaway Forum.

I too am a forced induction fan... and as Chris mentioned in addition to my 91' Aerobody B2K, I still have one of my 2 GNX's - #254, and also Superchaged Jag XKR. Those are some great cars you have had.

You will find that the Callaway is much smoother than the GN. You won't get as hard a punch between gears as in the GN since most people can't shift as fast as an automatic but you definitely have much more power, gears, and smooth top end speed.

While I love to drive both my turbo cars, ever since I got my B2K, my GNX doesn't go out as often anymore.

Have fun on the drive home and look forward to hearing all about the trip and how she drives.

-Luigi

Ray, welcome and congratulations on your purchase. Enjoy the trip home -- I can still remember the first time I drove mine, what an awesome feeling. :w

Congratulations Ray!!

Looks like you've a very good Callaway for the money :)
Stick around here on the board, this is THE Callaway info exchange center for owners and enthousiasts! :D

Groeten Peter.

Congrats Ray and welcome aboard!

Hickory is just off of I-40 so you'll have plenty of long stretches to open her up. Anyone want to handicap how fast he'll get across Oklahoma?:D

So Far So Good

Car was cleaner than even the EBay pictures showed

Beautiful condition, and it is driving great

We have been already driven thru North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and we are currently in Mississippi. and tomorrow its back on the road heading back along Hwy 20 (W)

I've done a quick 0-100 mph jaunt on a freeway onramp, and was impressed to say the least

I'm dying to try a high speed run, but common sense will hold me back until I can check the vehicle out at home.

People just point and stare along the freeway or when we stop for gas

26.0 mpg average so far

Only problems to date are an under hood light that is out, and the center console cushion edge has pulled loose (passenger side)

I swapped out the metal roof panel for the glass roof panel and that was an experience

Car has finally seen its first exposure to the rains...lol

More to come later...... all i can say is WOW !!!

Ray
