In adition to my 1991 vette, I recently purchased a 1970 Nova SS with a 1994 LT1 Corvette motor. Does anyone have a relatively simple way to hook up a tach. The engine was wired with a Painless Wire Kit. Any suggestions.

The painless harness has a specific tach lead that has been wired to the harness. You should get with painless for a schematic to make it neat and clean.

However, all you have to do is run power, ground, and dash light wire to the gauge, then run a wire to the tach lead side out on the coil and ....boom...you got a tach.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the white wire out on the coil harness feeds the tach.

Got any pictures? Sounds like a sweeeet ride.

Yes, the white wire out of the coil is the one!

Run a MSD ignition module and ya can run a tach off of that!Plus ya get the added affect of constant spark control.:beer
