Help! 1997 LT1 6 speed

Looking to install a LT1 and a 6 speed in my 1981. Has anyone ever done this? It is out of a 1997 Trans Am. My main concern is the tranmission crossmember. Any advice?

Is it a ZF6? I almost never see a ZF installed in a C3 and after some pictures from somebody who did I know why. It isn't an easy trans to install. For example: You also need to cut the floor next to your gaspedal because the clutch fluidlines need to be connected there. Sorry I can't find the pictures anymore. Maybe do a search on ZF6 in c3 sections

no the transmission is a T56?

Oke a T56. A lot of people change to a T56, the only thing that needs to be changed is the position of the stick. It needs to be offset to the left or you need to cut up your centerconsole. When you do a search you should find a lot of info on this topic
