After having my 02 coupe for about 2 months I think I have decided to go ahead and change over to some aftermarket exhaust. I am looking for a much more aggressive tone. Can I hear some personal experiences? I would also like to get some recomendations on shops in the Northern VA area to do the install. Any help is appreciated!

vaC5,

Are you absolutely sure you want a louder exhaust? I hear C5's from time to time with after market exhaust systems on them and they sound like something from a different place and time. I'm sure you don't want a late model Vette that sounds like a chopped and channeled 59 Merc. JMO

VA C5, welcome to the :CAC as far as exhaust, the best I have seen & heard is NOT one found in the catalogs, it is hand crafted and has a neat panel that "finishes" the look of the rear :upthumbs

here is the info and a pic. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42881

As far as a place to have the work done, Either Koons Chevy (See Joe Malo) or call Cooper Corvettes in Triangle (3 blocks S. of Dumfries) ask for Tom McGrath.
Both are great :cool

Hope this helps :m

I was really happy with my 99 when I put the factory Z06 exhaust on it, it was a little louder, sounder really cool and yet didn't become bothersome. It's also quieter then when it's in a Z06 because the coupe and convert. have more insulation. . . hightly recommend it. . .

I got mine on eBay, it had 17 miles on it and cost me $700 shipped, from GM it would have been $2000. . .

I agree - I got a pair of Z06 exhausts off an '02 Z06 for about $500. They're lighter than most systems, and have a strong, tuned note, especially when I drop the hammer. I like to use GM engineering where possible.

i went with the corsa tourings. nice sound and zero resonance.

I installed the Corsa Indy, great sound and zero resonance at speed. WOT is killing my gas mileage.

(Just got my Sig, why did I wait?)
