I have alittle question about 2003 Anniversary edition Convertible Corvette that I am looking at.The information sheet I got from another dealer states that this vehicle has the( G90) option ...axle rear 3.15 ratio.....I looked at the 50thregistry.com and I believe that the standard rear axle ratio is 2.73 (option gu2) or some will have the (gu6) option which is the 3:42 ratio. The last option available was the (G92) which is the performance option.......Can anyone clear this up for me?................................BTW I drove this baby a little and I'm :BOW It looks and drives great.I'm just not thrilled about buying it from a dealer.I drove an hour away to see the car and all he said was..."I just lowered the asking price this morning knocking off 2 grand"....I replied great but your salesman told me that it had 6900km when the odometer now reads 11700 km.Oh let's not even talk about what he offered me for my corvette :mad ........The VIN is 1G1YY32G735129716.....Any help is greatly appreciated.

The G92 (3.15 performance axle option) is only available on an automatic. The standard is 2.73.

If it is an anniversery edition, the option for that is 1SC and there were very few other options offered; BSM, CD Changer, License Frame, Tops options on the Coupe, 6 speed manual (MN6) and/or museum delivery.

The VIN is pretty late in the run so it is closer to new.

Hope there is something here that answers your questions.

Sell your car outright, privately. The trade is all fake $$$. I hate to see people get robbed and that is exactly what happens when you trade a car. They laugh at you when you make the deal. It's all fake money that they would knock off the top anyway. If you absolutely must do a trade, negotiate until you reach the dealerships bottom line, and then the next day introduce the trade into the deal. Never introduce the trade right away. By the way, the 3:15 rear tears a$$ off the line, never knew there was a 3:42 ratio offered?

Thanks TUNA ....BUT.....in your list it has C2L and CC3,...That can't be becase it's a vert.Next your list shows MN6 and MXO.....it can't have both ?....V49 I don't think so because the original CORVETTE cover in the front bumper is intact although in the list that another GM dealer gave me it DOES mention that it has the V49 option........Getting back to the G90 option?....It must be a typo since the next option on the sheet says G92 then it says next to it Aucune description disponible.....which in English means no description available. My guess now is that it does have the G92 option and that the dealer's sheet had a typo.

pac-man......I would NEVER trade in a vehicle at a dealer.I'd rather sell it way below value to another consumer before giving it to them.I was just curious and wanted to give the salesman something to do while I test drove that 50th anniversary......:L ....That vette is a beauty.I have a buddy of mine looking out for it at the local auctions because I'm sure he won't sell it to a buyer anytime soon. That dealer is so darn far away from civilization I think he never sold a vette.........By the way guys the dealer told me that he sold the vehicle to a client then bought it back.I've heard that from every dealer selling a used vette. Is there a way to verify to which dealer GM sold the car?

This is from the 50th database:

SEQUENCE:29993 COUNTRY CODE:14 - Canada
DEALER:86882 BUILD DATE:04/25/2003

I don't know for sure how to find out what your current dealer's number is.

Howdy,

Sorry for the incorrect post. I was in a hurry and did a quick cut and paste without paying attention to the list I was pasting. I have deleted it.

The comment about G92 being the performance axle still stands. G90 is not used. Check the RPO list sticker on the car.

I nwent back to the dealer today and he knocked off 5 grand since my last visit.I checked it up and he did sell the Vette to a customer of his.I really like the car and it has almost 9000 miles on it......I'm keeping my fingers crossed. That color is sweeet.

The 3.42 gears were standard on 6 speeds. I believe they were unavailable on automatics.

The V49 license frame option just means the frame is in the cargo compartment of the car. It does not come installed in place of the body colored filler plate.

G90 and G92 are both codes for the 3.15:1 performance axle. One is what is called a merchandised option code and/or build sheet, where the other is the option code used on your data plate.

My build sheet shows a G90 code for the perf axle. The Corvette Blackbook shows the option as G92, so I bet thats what is on the data plate.

Thanks trigger. The dealer who is selling that sexy vette explained all that to me when I went back to further discuss my purchasing of his beautiful corvette. It would make absolutely no sense whatsoever for me to buy that vette right now because our"summer" is over and the vette would just be stuck in my garage for 6 months.......come to think of it,it wouldn't be the first time I do something that doesn't make sense..:w .....I'm enjoying the window shopping for now,boy these vettes are getting cheaper every day..lol

I agree. The way I understand it, every ratio has an RPO code: GU2 - 2.73, GU6 - 3.42 (MN6 tranny only), G90 - 3.15. Ordering the performance axle, G92, means your A4 vette will be equipped with a G90 3.15 rearend. Similar to the Z51 Perf Package gets you the FE3 sport suspension, along with a power steering cooler (which has its own RPO code, although I don't know it.)

Take the next 6-months to find the AE you really want.

You are going to love this car, please stay in touch and plan to join over 100 other 50th AEs in Asheville, NC over the July 4th, 2005 weekend.

Blade......I'm going to make another(yes another)offer to the dealer,I'm pretty sure by now that he is fed up of me but I want the vette...at my price.I have set it up so that if he doesn't sell it and he decides to go sell it at an auction,my buddies will be there waiting to jump on it.I have seen some extremely good deals at the local Adessa auctions. The reason I didn't buy anything is because the cars were not "known" vehicles whereas this one was sold by that dealer and bought back. One of the owner (son) drove it around this summer and now he is stuck with it......I have another option for next summer also.A buddy of mine has an electron blue 2003 that he will trade in next spring(May 2005).He will buy the C6 convertible. He promised me that he would let me have it at trade-in value so I'm kinda hesitating........Shopping is half the fun :D .
