2005 model extended build date???

I have heard that GM is going to keep building 2005's into September. My local dealers have seen no allocation or pricing yet for 2006 coupes/verts so this might explain why. Can anyone confirm this and better yet, describe the rationale behind it? The Z06 is plenty exclusive as it is - are they trying to make it more so by it being the only 2006 available til perhaps November? This extended build also seems odd because there are plenty of 2005's out there now - why would they continue to flood the market with more of them? I know alot of folks who are waiting to order their 2006's. A 2005 purchased today already has a year's worth of depreciation on it.

The dealers do not yet have the Order Guide for 06 but all of them expect them momentarily. You can start ordering on July 27th and production starts in early September. (7th or 8th I think).

What you may have heard does not jibe with anything that anyb of the dealers on this forum or other Corvette forums have been informed.

Anyone else out there hear anything on this topic? I just got a message from a buddy who said that Kerbeck posted on their website, "2005 production extended to Sept 8 - order your 2005 now". Very strange.

Yes, Kerbeck claims that the 05 production HAS been extended.
